OT: Is this one of the best post game tirades ever?
Please post your nastiest post game speeches, melt downs. All my chores are down and I;m just chillin.
Quite frankly, this is amazing. He's the Bobby Knight of baseball, it seems.
Not really. Garrido rarely goes off (unlike Knight) which makes the instances where he does actually go off on his players resonate much more. It's definitely a good way to coach; he doesn't have that "boy who cried wolf" type of thing going on that some coaches who are always yelling have with their players. When Garrido loses it, they know it's bad, and they fucked up.
Wow. "I'd just come visit you in the hospital when you get the wires off your mouth from the broken jaw"
That's a pretty detailed rant for something he's likely coming up with on the fly.
Can't say I can think of any tirade I've even seen to rival that puppy.
Just saw that video while strolling around on EDSBS. Great stuff. I love the part where he death-stares the kid in the locker room for getting picked off of 1st. Good use of the f-word all around. Not too much, but enough to really drive the point home.
W O W ! ! ! ! !! !
That's the most colossal meltdown I've ever heard, and I've heard some doozies.
"This isn't about some GD game. This is about our f'n lives."
Coach, I think I understand the message you're trying to teach but the fact is, it IS a game.
maybe if you didn't overwork your pitchers so egregiously you wouldn't have this problem.
Yeah, that was a bit of a rant. I thought the back of the guy's head was about to blow off. His blood pressure must have been high enough to power a steam engine.
WHICH NONE OF YOU KNOW PROBABLY KNOW ONE FUCKING THING ABOUT"
haah I watched that video like 8 times and its gets better each time. This dude is def the Bobby Knight of baseball. This is classic.
For this type of personality, I don't think the tirade was all that overboard or unusual, I heard just as bad in person.
One of my favorite rants, though it definitely lacks Garrido's intensity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwq7BYOnDrM Hopefully the embed works.
Help me out, guys.
Switch to the plain text editor, paste embed code, switch back to rich text and post.
Thanks for the tip. You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman.
how to embed. Pretty awesome feeling. As soon as I can do that yellow box thing ill be a legitamate contender.
how do they take this guy seriously?

Bruce Boudreau has some pretty good rants
Wonder if these guys go off like this in other contexts. At home that would be a big problem. Also wonder if those rants would be any more or less effective by eliminating the language while keeping the intensity...Any opinion on that?
like this clown Garrido. Yelling yes, but the barrage of f-bombs in every form, no. I can't imagine it makes his players play any better.
Personally, one of my favorite rants was John L. Smith's half-time tirade in the Ohio State game in 2005: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvrRvUYRdD8
"The kids are playing their tails off and the coaches are screwing it up!" Ha-ha-ha. An MSU classic if there ever was one.
"We would be...Dead..." Golden
That guy seemes like he really is certifiably unbalanced...Hope he doesn't sue me.
this isn't exactly a post game tirade, but its almost unbeatable, I'm sure a lot of us remember this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGZUKHtW7vg
nevermind, got beat to it.
too funny. especially when he crawls to the pitchers mound and lobs a fake hand grenade at the umpire. thats fnny stuff right there.
It took me about 3 viewings to figure out that he was knocking over the mike at 0:27. That stat bar is huge.

But I would never want my boys playing for a coach who lost control like this.
This may sound naive, but it seems to me we may care a bit too much about winning when it comes to amateur sports.
These kids have grown-up playing baseball, and I am sure that they do their best when they are on the diamond. In any baseball game, one team will win and one team will lose.
We should all keep this in mind when watching 18 year old kids playing ball.

As a Cubs fan this was one of my favorites! If you have never heard this take a minute.

For an old guy, he's pretty lythe.
