8:30 Tonight, NBC is the kickoff of the new NFL season. Heavyweight matchup as the defending SB champ Ravens visit Peyton Manning and the Broncos.
Along with general FOOTBAWness, the game should be a good one.
Damefan is up. Surprisingly, he's not completely delusional. http://damefan.blogspot.com/
If nothing else, he maintains his onwership of center justification and inappropriate ellipses as well as a lack of meaningful analysis. Like him or not, Damefan is indeed consistent like a champion.
You take out Yost and that Bo bro and Meatchicken has...nothing on Notre Dame tradition!!!
Not worth the read. "Take out Denard Robinson's rushing stats and they aren't nearly as stout!"...No shit. Take out Tommy Reese's passing stats from their first game and ND is the worst passing team in the league. See what I did there?
I should be very afraid of Nix? Don't link me all the "research" showing how crappy a team Temple is and then say Michigan should worry about Nix. Notre Dame should worry about Nix. Why? 2 penalties and 1 TFL. More penalties than playmaking?
I could sit on a toilet and crap out a better argument than him.
of course, he's not going to put up flashy stats. They should be afraid of him because he is disruptive and take on blockers so the LBs can clean up plays after him.
"But... They are a year away from where we are right now!"
Does this mean he thinks we're going to the National Championship game to be walloped by an SEC team this year?
very excited to get NFL going again. Kinda upset at my fantasy draft however
UTL 1 is on BTN.
Sweet. Thanks, making the family watch this now.
thanks, but I'll wait until the 4th qtr.
ND just went up 24-7 i.e. all the bad stuff is over, almost entirely good stuff to come. Good time to switch over now for anyone waiting
There was Stephen Hopkins best carry of his career, the fumble recovered by Denard for the td.
Just in time for the good part. Thanks man!
Screw the NFL. I am watching FAU versus ECU on Fox Sports 1.
Yep. So much better than the NFL.
College football always is.
Who the hell picks mid-major college football over Al and Cris Having Fun on TV?
Ravens fan checking in, kinda upset a scheduling conflict put the game in denver since breaking in an inexperienced secondary vs peyton won't be fun in denver, but hey we won the superbowl last year so i'm still happy.
I have two receivers from fantasy in this game. Demaryious Thomas and Torrey Smith.
Me to. Eric Decker, Jacoby Jones.
No, I got stocked up on Rb's and Qb's first...Rodgers, Arian Foster, Ahmad Bradshaw, Roddy White, Eric Decker....non ppr league...don't ask how i stole all those guys, i just did.
Things more "NFL" than Keith Urban:
2) Miley Cyrus
3) Lance Bass
Also, I just realized this afternoon I have Wes Welker in all of my leagues (three).
Smart move as he's probably going to have a monster year. Even if it's in orange, the guys amazing.
90 yards and a TD would be swell, kthx.
I'm thinking Denver in a close one. Peyton will have a little rust but will ultimately come through against a Ravens D that hasn't had much time to gel.
Why is it that the Lions have to be on the portion of the display that had the letter "O" for "kickoff" (looking suspiciously like a zero)? Am I thinking about this a little too deeply? Perhaps.
Woo hoo! Weather delay!
I bet it's beautiful in Baltimore right now.
I can't wait until Ryan Seacrest opens up UTL2 Saturday!
If you weren't watching FAU's 3rd field goal try dinged off the left upright and it was awesome.
let's hope I made the right decision to sit baltimore's defense
What was up with the ref who patted down (checked his chest and particularly his arms where he had no padding) that Ravens player - don't know who it was, but I'm guessing a DL?
I've never seen that before. Did you see him patting down anyone else? My only guess is that he was caught with using grease to make himself slippery before. Maybe an unpublished punishment where he has to be checked before the game? Totally out there guess. Any ideas?
Two players got patted down that I saw. Never seen it before, and both had no undershirt/padding and got their arms patted down. No clue.
Looks like the NFL/TSA does random pat downs. Keeps the prison shivs out of the game.
Not a problem since Ray Lewis isn't on the Ravens anymore.
Could have to do with the rule where players are now required to wear all of the padding (i.e. skimping out on wearing knee pads).
Deadspin just wrote about this.
where is the +1 button?
Just saw Denver's defensive intros. It sounded like one of the defensive linemen, don't remember his name, said he played for the “Michigan State University Spartan Dogs”...did anybody else catch that? Did I hear him wrong?
You did hear him wrong, it's pronounced Spartan Dawgs, duh.
First GIS result for Spartan Dogs
Evidently, it was someone named Kevin Vickerson, who was drafted in 2005 out of MSU. Can't say as I remember him in college, though (looked him up on the internet).
So, yeah I'm glad I picked up Welker in my fantasy league.
Can you imagine how pissed Jones must be? To get injured on a play like that, yeesh.
I just found the PAC12 Network on my comcast package and I had no idea I had it. 717 for those that are interested in tuning in to the Sun Devils game. Keep your ears and eyes open for Will Sutton, a DT with simialr numbers to Clowney.
Peyton still knows where to throw it, but man, even Chad Pennington thinks he has a weak arm at this point.
Got laughed at more when I started him over Tony G this week. I feel pretty alright about my decision now.
Noticed his % owned has already gone up 10%. If I didn't have J. Graham I'd grab him.
I hope I never am in a league with you.
Why didn't I start Julius Thomas at TE over Antonio Gates? Damnit.
Bahahahahaha amazing. And his teammate gets injured chasing down the ball. Ugh.
a "DeSean Jackson". I'd be super pissed if I were the guy who got hurt trying to clean up the mistake.
I has Ray Rice and Demaryius Thomas tonight. Touchdown apiece so I'm not too upset.
That was the NFL equivalent of a MACrifice...ouch.
I guess paid of this week. Hope I can hold on for the win.
