OT: Most underrated/unknown or favorite new album?
Being the offseason, I know board material is a little lacking and there isn't always a lot to talk about. I love listenening to some of the old favorites, but at some point everyone wants something new. I honeslty can't say I know a ton of new artists, but I am open to pretty much any genre. Any help finding some new artists/songs/albums to check out from my MGoBrethren? Any albums you feel are underrated or some unkowns you feel other people should check out? And my personal "Most Underrated" albums go to
Saigon-'The Greatest Story Never Told'
Sean Price-'Jesus Price Superstar'
Common-'Like Water for Chocolate'
AZ-'Doe or Die'
Thrice-'The Illusion of Safety'
Minus the Bear-"Menos El Oso'
And my favorite unknown is Elzhi-"Elmatic". A remake of Nas 'Illmatic' from Detroit's best rapper.
I dont have any current favorites, so help an MGoBrother out.
What's everybodythink of the new Daft Punk?
Definitely not what I expected, though I'm not sure what I really expected this time around. Each album they've put out has been different than it's predecessor so, again, I wasn't sure what to expect. This one to me is a bit of a 2013 Disco album. At first I wasn't thrilled but I'm on about my third-ish time throuh listening and I've gotten accustomed to their "new" sound and some of it is "Growing on me".
...haven't gotten around to a deep listening session though, I hear it's awesome but I just can't get into it as of yet for whatever reason.
love it.

Tyler the Creator. His album name 'Wolf' is quite remarkable.
Its like a movie. IFHY is a great great song, almost every guy has felt like that.
Chance The Rapper's Acid Rap mixtape is hands down the best mixtape/album I have ever heard, IMO. Its just fantastic.. everyy song. Its extremely relatable for me too which takes the cake. His wordplay and voice amaze me.
I think I've listened to coco butter kisses and pusha man a thousand times. Lol, hes gonna o far. So much potential.
Because based on the video I thought it had to be a joke. I died a little inside when I found out it wasn't.
Real recoginize real!!

Insanel talented.. sad that his life ended so soon.
Max Frost - No album but a few youtube videos. Highly recommended
Yonas - Has a couple mixtapes, and a remix of Foster the People's "pumped up kicks"
Newton Faulker - Hand Built by Robots
Major Lazer put out a fantastic album a couple months ago called "Free the Universe". It's awesome. Newest vid from it inspired some interesting reactions - song/video is called "bubble butt". Probably NSFW. REALLY weird

The Mountain Goats-- Transcendental Youth
Ezra Furman-- The Year of No Returning
I decided to make a concerted effort to listen to newer/different music, and I thus discovered this: http://www.allmusic.com/newreleases/editorschoice/january-2004. Basically, the website has an "Editors' Pick" section of all new albums out by month since 2004. I have used it to discover artists generally, and so I will go through and listen to all the good albums by the artists that have put out good albums from every month (look through January of 2004, see what artists have put out albums rated as 4.5 stars or higher at any time, and listen to those). That and Spotify have really contributed to my musical overload.
The Roots by Radical Face. Isn't well-known but highly praised by the reviews it's gotten
Murs & 9th Wonder - The Final Adventure
Ghostface Killah & Adrian Younge - Twelve Reasons to Die
Ghostface Killah & Appollo Brown - Twelve Reasons to Die: The Brown Tape
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
I've been WEARING The Brown Tape out...get's better every time I hear it.

Not new, but unknown and underrated if "Music for Pleasure" by Monaco. Features Peter Hook, and is at times very Oasis- and New Order-ish.
Bear In Heaven - I Love You, It's Cool
My Bloody Valentine - m b v
Grizzly Bear - Shields
And my personal favorite "genre" for a while now would be drone/ambient drone...love the self titled album from A Winged Victory for the Sullen, with composer Dustin O'Halloran and (from stars of the lid) Adam Wiltzie.
Oh and one more. Weird Swedish electronic that is just straight up awesome:
The Knife - Shaking The Habitual
Free Energy's 'Love Sign'
