I have to commend you on the avatar. J Dilla was awesome, and Doughnuts is an awesome album. Really sad about how he passed - not a fun way to go out, for sure. Definitely seems to have cause him to dig deep and create that album though - awesome work.

So at this point, I'm wondering if we concede that GRIII is just not very good. I know he has tons of potential, and that's alluded to all the time...but his production just doesn't seem very impressive. He consistently underperforms in games against non-cupcake opponents, and that's not something that seems to be changing. I'm assuming he's gone after this year, and honestly I wonder how much he will really be missed.

Love hearing what you had to say about people shitting on you for no reason. I come to this blog for interesting football analysis (along with the other sports, to some degree) and really love the stuff y'all put out AND the interesting contributions by Space Coyote, Mangus and their ilk (the intelligent contributions). Hey BiSB, you can only suffer

Hey BiSB, you can only suffer from gigantism before your epiphyseal plates fuse (i.e. before your growth plates close). Guiton can deal with unexpected acromegaly (the "adult version" of gigantism, so to speak - you don't get any taller, but you get hormonal problems and you generally see enlargememtn of jaw/feet/hands, along with some other things that I'm forgetting right now).

That'd be quite a nerve tonic to cause massive growth hormone secretion and acromegaly through...wish I'd had some of that while I was growing up

You know, the first thing I

You know, the first thing I was going to say when I saw this was "you are a complete moron". But honestly, to an extent, you are right. I always think we're better off winning rather than losing (I know, I'm a revolutionary), but I actually really like your point about unrealistic expectations. I think it caused us to think the transition would be easier than it really ever could have been, and now that we're finally making a (very rough) transition, it's causing what looks like an implosion. Note, i'm not saying I'm happy with the way Borges is calling things - I really don't think he's doing a particularly great job. But at some point, we were bound to have a rough season, and unfortunately it's been worse than most of us expected, and everyone is losing their minds, pretty much.

They'll never join the

They'll never join the Pac-12; a couple of the Pac-12 schools (Cal comes to mind; I forget the other one) are explicity opposed to religious schools joining their league. Regardless of whether one supports that or opposes it, that's the case there

Haven't read the article yet,

Haven't read the article yet, but man I did not expect to see the mythology I grew up with on the front page, ha (I grew up Hindu). Pretty cool stuff. Also, Seth, nice use of Brihaspathi - that's a deity you don't see nearly as often as some of the others (Vishnu and Shiva, for example). The mythology itself is pretty interesting - I love those old stories. Anyway, enough of that, just wanted to say that was pretty cool

What was up with those random

What was up with those random questions on branding? Someone applying to Ross for an MBA or something?

Also, committing "here"?

Also, committing "here"? Sounds like Tranquill is saying they'll both be part of Michigan's class. Could just be strange wording and I'm reading too much into it (in recruiting? that never happens), but I found it odd nonetheless

Misogyny? Because it says

Misogyny? Because it says "golden vagina"? The symbol for the college football playoff literally looks like a drawing of a vagina, and it is in gold. No one said "vaginas are evil" "women are stupid" or any other drivel like that (if they had, I'd certainly agree with you). But if the creators of this illustrious playoff had made a symbol that didn't look like a golden vagina, then Seth wouldn't have named it as such.

Besides, the original person to notice this was Spencer on edsbs (look at the second bolded paragraph): http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2013/4/24/4260684/the-curious-index-4-24-2013

bad analogy. Your situation implies 50/50 shot...ie these guys have no additional information and are choosing between 2 options blindly. fellow you responded to is saying that they have info that tilts the balance from 50/50 to something less balanced (e.g. 70/30. I havent done the analysis so i don't know the actual numbers). so they still have a 30 percent chance of being wrong (and they will be wrong that often), but when you look at the entire population, you will find they are right more often than they are wrong.
To your point about "if he's wrong now, how does that make him less likely to be wrong later" - since trends show they're generally getting some percent right & some percent wrong, if they get 1 wrong, that's one more "spot" filled in the wrong category. Same principle applies to correct predictions - every one they get right is one less "right" spot available for future predictions. hope this clears it up

Magnus, this is the most positive scouting report you've put out that I can remember outside of the Da'shawn Hand one. That makes me extraordinarily giddy inside

I agree with Borges

I honestly don't think he's wrong about that. If you're not following football theory very closely, reading sites like this one or smartfootball or footballstudyhall pretty regularly, there's no reason you would have a more nuanced view. Some people (I Imagine you're among them) do stuff like that, or have coached before, or done something to give them that experience. I'd wager (pure hypothesis, obviously) that for the majority of fans, that's simply not the case

Sorry to threadjack, I can't make a post (not enough points), but Rutgers head bball coach was fired for being basically the worst person ever. Seriously, read some of the allegations made about his coaching tactics and check out the video, the guy was throwing basketballs at players heads and calling them "fucking [homophobic slur]", completely unacceptable stuff.
