OT - Leicester City at Manchester United, 9:05am EDT, NBC Sports

Submitted by Wolverine In Iowa on

Yes, I know it's early, but I'm getting ready to go to bed.  This morning may give us one of the greatest stories in sport:  Lowly Leicester City, a team near demotion out of the Premier League last year, clinching the English Premier League championship against one of the perennial heavyweights, Manchester United.  Man United's field, Old Trafford, is also known as the "Field Theater of Dreams."

Can the dream happen tomorrow for LCFC?  Tune in on NBC Sports at 9:05am EDT.

On one hand, I'm happy a team like Leicester is winning the EPL. On the other hand, I'm so god damn frustrated as an Arsenal fan right now. It's not even funny anymore.

Arsenal hasn't been #1 in the standings beyond March 20th for almost a decade now. That is NOT okay!

I don't know anything about EPL (first year watching) but they had some kind of organized minute in the game where the fans booed the coach and held up signs.  Those fans are pretty bitter (and demanding).

English soccer is hard for me to watch because every fan looks the exact same and sounds the exact same. German, or Spanish soccer is much more enjoyable for me. International games are by far the best though. I love when USA goes to the Azteca.

They were reporting it in a way us non soccer Americans could understand. They were saying if you think Cubs fans have it bad since they haven't won since 1908. Try adding another 20 or so years on that and that's how bad Leicester has it. A story line like that may just get me to tune in....

I mean it probably won't be a goal fest or anything, but it will be an exciting atmosphere just because what can happen if Leicester win. Or even if they draw. Or lose. Depending on the outcome of the Chelsea v Tottenham match tomorrow. Although if Leciester's last game is any indication it very well could be a goal fest. I haven't really answered your question at all, I'm afraid. If you're awake you should probably just have it on the tv, even if it's just in the background.

More Match Details from the UK's Mirror

Wolverine In Iowa, please forgive me, but I've got one minor correction for your original post. As someone who has (a) loved the film "Field of Dreams" from the first time I saw it during its original theatrical run, about six months after my father died, and (b) had to endure several Arsenal losses at Manchester United's home stadium, I believe that Old Trafford is more commonly known as The Theatre of Dreams, NOT the Field of Dreams.

As a long-time Arsenal fan who has been suffering through their miserable collapse and uninspriing play during 2016, I'll be nervously hoping that the Leicester City-ManU match will end in a well-played draw that will, at least for the moment, keep ManU four points back of the Gunners in the EPL Table. I'd still like to cling to the hope that the Gunners can remain in the top four in the standings at the end of the season.

And, borrowing from John Oliver AND also because you're in Iowa, now this:

I usually only follow La Liga, MLS and US soccer. I have never felt compelled to watch EPL except for major matches. LCFC actually has me watching EPL and enjoying it.

I usually just watch the World Cup and Olympic soccer, but this is the Hollywood version of Hoosiers. I defenitely want to see the Cinderella story play out. LCFC!

speaking of nbcsn, is this an option for big ten games ... they're still shopping half of our games right? I hope we stick with espn/abc
