He has led my Fantasy Football team to a 12-0 start. With a big assist from the Patriots defense.

Lamar Jackson and patriots D is a deadly combo. Assuming you didn’t butcher your top 4 picks there is just so much room for error. Even just the patriots D has been enough for most people to make the playoffs. Did you get lucky or you expected Lamar to be a weekly starter ?
November 26th, 2019 at 8:26 AM ^
I would say by him simply have Lamar Jackson he didn't butcher his picks. No way he was a 1st round pick. No one saw this coming.
November 26th, 2019 at 8:58 AM ^
Pats D has been great, ah, except for 1 Sunday night! Can't believe the best regular season game of the season is going to a regional Sunday @ 1PM when the 9ers and Ravens play. Any chance big bro can do little bro a favor and send him Lamar for Saturday?
November 25th, 2019 at 9:46 PM ^
And i got clowned for taking him in every single fantasy league. Who’s the clown now?
November 25th, 2019 at 10:23 PM ^
Faux Mo is still the clown around here
November 26th, 2019 at 6:39 AM ^
A clown, yes ... but with a certain child-like quality.
November 26th, 2019 at 6:52 AM ^
And he used to advertise "Free Hugs"
November 25th, 2019 at 9:47 PM ^
He’s awesome, but will need to evolve as defenses adjust and figure him out. He’ll still be great, but eventually a defensive scheme will force him into whatever his weakness is (don’t know what it is yet) and then Baltimore will need to scheme in response.
But yeah, he’s an insane weapon right now. That said, healthy Mahomes, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson are insane too right now.
will be interesting to see how NFL defenses adjust over the next few years.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
They are running an almost college-like offense right now. Tons of slot drag routes and HB Texas routes complimented by go routes and deep posts on the outside. TEs doing a great job finding soft spots on the secondary. The downhill pistol inside run game which rotates three viable RBs and testing the perimeter with QB runs. I think they can keep the passing game quite simple and Lamar-friendly as long as the run game remains successful.
November 26th, 2019 at 8:33 AM ^
John Harbaugh and Greg Roman have said repeatedly that they looked at his skillset and purposely designed the offense around it. They take advantage of his ability to run, but actually limit the amount of called QB runs. The passing game is setup to use the arm he has, rather than force him into a standard NFL mold. Similar to what Rich Rod did with Denard - took advantage of a good arm in certain situations, like quick hitters and 'thoughtless' throws where his athletic ability was on display. Rich Rod did not ask DRob to stand in a pocket and read through progressions, but Hoke did. We all saw the difference!
Harbaugh is putting Jackson in spots where his athletic ability is on display, rather than forcing him into a risk averse mold. As far as I'm concerned, JH is an early candidate for NFL Coach of the Year for this completely different Baltimore offense.
November 26th, 2019 at 12:06 PM ^
When the run is taken away, and it inevitably will from either the Pats or someone else in the playoffs, and he has to pass to win the game, then we will see how revolutionary Jackson is.
November 26th, 2019 at 9:14 AM ^
Which all points to their offensive line being as important as Lamar. There I said it.
November 26th, 2019 at 10:29 AM ^
I love me some HB texas routes.
One of my go to plays in NCAA 14 is the slot out. Outside WR run fades, inside WR run outs, and the HB runs a texas route. It beats man and zone.
And if you are smart with your formation subs you can put your fastest WR at the HB spot and get him matched up with a MLB type.
November 25th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
Deshaun Watson is not even close to the other two names
November 25th, 2019 at 11:56 PM ^
He’s running a big risk taking some of the hits he does. I’m not sure he can keep doing that for long. Look at Russell Wilson, he was doing similar stuff with his legs and had to scale that back in order to have a career longer than 5 years.
November 26th, 2019 at 1:59 AM ^
Lamar took the least amount of big hits among the NFL QBs in the league this year. He knows how to take care of himself
November 26th, 2019 at 7:35 AM ^
I saw him take the ball between the tackles last night and get gang tackled. Wilson never does that anymore. Jackson may take fewer hits because of Oline protection or because they run the ball a lot but running like that is going to take its toll.
November 26th, 2019 at 6:04 AM ^
QBs that sit in the pocket also take big hits, it is a fact of life in the league.
November 26th, 2019 at 7:42 AM ^
True, but there’s a difference between the force of getting hit standing in the pocket and the force that happens with you running at them full speed and them running at you full speed.
November 26th, 2019 at 6:08 AM ^
I hate this statement and the statements that the “league will catch up with him”. This is true of every offense, no matter the style. Every team has to come up with adjustments and be able to punish teams for trying to stop the run. The reality is that this offense is far superior and the league is very slow to innovate out of fear of doing something different. Colleges have shown you can adjust to in this offense to the defensive adjustments. This is the future of the NFL and the future of football.
November 26th, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
Don't get me wrong, I think Jackson is an amazing athlete, a lot of fun to watch and has a great story of overcoming adversity.
I just see this pattern with quarterbacks that can run. Either an injury effectively ends their career early like RG3 and Culpepper or their rushing production drops off like Vick, Cunningham and Wilson.
So I like many others will watch in awe of Jackson and enjoy the spectacle while it lasts because it's just not sustainable.
November 26th, 2019 at 10:09 AM ^
Jackson has the number 2 QBR from passes in the pocket in the NFL right now. Yeah a lot is driven open by his running ability but he is already a good passer who remodeled his game over one off season.
November 26th, 2019 at 1:27 PM ^
I'm talking about the risk he takes every down he's running off tackle or on the edge. QBR has to do with pocket efficiency. Yes he's a good passer which should benefit him even more when his run game fades, which history suggests will happen after 5 or 6 seasons.
November 26th, 2019 at 6:31 AM ^
I am not sure he has a weakness other than aging like the rest of us mortals. He’s faster than Kap and RG3, taller than Kyler and Russ, and he’s learning how to make the right read and use his touch. Perhaps he has less velocity, but he can still sling it.
No coincidence that he has Roman as his OV and is thriving—same guy who I wish we got with JH from 9ers.
November 26th, 2019 at 8:58 AM ^
Would Roman have brought Lamar Jackson here with him? Because this has a lot more to do with the player than it does the coach.
November 26th, 2019 at 6:32 AM ^

Defenses will increasingly need more Devin Bush and Cam McGrone types: super fast and agile linebackers.
November 25th, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
He's like Michael Vick, but without the dogfighting!
November 25th, 2019 at 9:56 PM ^
Seems to be a better passer than Vick already.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:20 PM ^
Let’s see if he can sign two (!) separate $100 million contracts.
November 26th, 2019 at 7:01 AM ^
And then go Bankrupt!
November 26th, 2019 at 8:45 AM ^
I really wish I could’ve seen Vick with an offense built around his abilities. Back then they just did a bunch of bootlegs and thought that was the best way to use his athleticism
November 25th, 2019 at 9:56 PM ^
Is there a game tonight?
November 25th, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
I laughed at this
November 25th, 2019 at 10:21 PM ^
Not that the Rams are involved in. I think something has been sacrificed, however.
November 26th, 2019 at 1:15 AM ^
Nope, just a televised formal scrimmage.
‘It was over by halftime.
November 26th, 2019 at 3:18 AM ^
LOL...was at the game...that was a good, old fashioned, ass kicking. Jackson is incredible.
November 26th, 2019 at 5:46 AM ^
Looks like the Patriots really broke the Rams last year. They haven’t been the same.
November 26th, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
The Super Bowl loser hangover is real.
November 26th, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
Yeah, the Patriots never recovered from the Philly Special.

Baltimore just broke the Rams.

Man remember how pissed the board was when Greg Roman was getting floated as a possible OC for Michigan after we fired Drevno? His pistol offense seems to be working just as well for John as it did for Jim and the 49ers.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:04 PM ^
Eh, Gattis seems to be working out pretty well now. I'd rather have a cutting edge college OC instead of a NFL guy running things that are still relatively new in the NFL but have been around college for a while now.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:22 PM ^
I thought there would have been support for Roman. I thought he sounded like a good idea. But, yeah. I'm getting happier every game, now.
November 26th, 2019 at 9:28 AM ^
Yeah I've been thinking the same thing. Interesting to think what would have happened if Roman came to Michigan. I do wonder though if his offense would be too complicated for college kids to pick up and requires full time practice like the NFL. Because that seems to be at least part of the problem when NFL coordinators come to Michigan. Then instead of the Gattis offense clicking halfway through the season, it may have taken the Roman offense a season and a half.
November 25th, 2019 at 9:59 PM ^
There was a discussion thread about this on here before the season. The Ravens came right out and said that this is what they were doing. I was intrigued but skeptical.
But, man, does the Ravens braintrust look good right now. Jackson's speed is completely different from most other QBs, even running QBs. He has always had a powerful arm, and he's making good throws. Not all of them are super-difficult, but they are real NFL throws, and because the running game is so dangerous, they are getting favorable looks.
I hope he can keep this up. He's so much fun to watch. My initial reservation is still valid, though: If he gets dinged, that offense changes completely. Look at how Mahomes was affected when he was hurt, and multiply that by the running tendencies of the Jackson offense.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
Their rushing attack looks so deadly, especially tonight. They seem to get 6-7 yards whenever they want it. One of the only teams where calling a running play on 3rd and 5-8 is actually still a good play call. They’re fun to watch right now.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:05 PM ^
No joke. And running plays in their two-minute drill, too. They zoomed right downfield. It was amazing.
November 25th, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
I mean sure injury is a risk, but as a ravens fan Lamar gets hit hard less frequently than Flacco did as a pocket passer. He rarely takes a direct hit because he’s so ridiculous
