OT: Kansas State F Ish Massoud has entered the transfer portal
6'9 forward who shot 39% from 3 this year (and who lit up MSU in their tourney game). No clue if he's a good defender but I hope we take a look at him to fill that hole at the 4 spothttps://twitter.com/IsmaelMassoud/status/1641134139251228678?s=20
Ah, my first time failing at embedding a tweet! I even Googled how to do it and everything. Alas

Kansas State F Ish
So...is he a forward, or just a forward...Ish?
/ducks
F Ish: starring Abe Vigoda.
This week, F Ish investigates a crime but has to use the bathroom first.
Smells F Ish y to me.
You beat me to it, Clarence.
Back then, I only knew Abe Vigoda from "Barney Miller," so it was pretty jarring to see him as Tessio when I saw "The Godfather" some years later. Even now, any time I see that movie, I half-expect him to call his wife Bernice on the way to the bathroom.
It was never personal Michael.
"Tom...can you get me off the hook? For old times sake?"
"Can't do it, Sally."
Tessio was always smarter.
The opening to Barney Miller had a killer Bass lead.

Fish: I haven't felt this good in years. Wouldn't you know, it's illegal.
From the Barney Miller brownies episode.
Also Nick: Mooshy mooshy mooshy.
When Nick did the "mooshy mooshy" thing, I laughed so hard and so long I damn near broke a rib. I was, I dunno, 12 maybe? And I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Little did I know that kid would grow up to be a raging pothead.
Right there with you. Maybe ten years older.
The fact that he lit up MSU and would have the opportunity to do it again next year as a Wolverine makes me want him
Fish so he must have a slippery game.
His game is...scalable. Probably has a hook shot and can catch the assist on the fly.
At 6'9", he's no shrimp.
I worry that he might flounder at Michigan. Could be roughy.
Maybe he doesn’t want to deal with the ish all over campus for having fumbled the potentially game-tying 3pt shot?
Nimari Burnett from Bama is also in the portal. We were in his final group coming out of high school and he's a good defender and catch and shoot guy at the guard spot. Probably looking to be a starter though
Assuming Kobe is gone, there are 35 minutes that need to get filled by a shooter.
Too much “catch and shoot” around that Alabama program unfortunately.
I see what you did there.
Does he have to sit out this year? This would be his 2nd time transferring right?
Meh, pass. We have a enough forward-ish types on the roster. We need a legit 4.
Not really. There's a large, gaping hole at the 3 and the 4.
Massoud makes Joey Baker look like a guy with an all-around game. Can never have too much three point shooting though. Over his four year career Massoud averages only 2 FGA per game from inside the arc, shot 34% (yeesh) on 2s last season and 36.7% for his career, pretty wild for a 6'8 guy. For reference TWill shot 47.2% on 2s last season and 49.2% for his career to date.
Yea, I was sort of making a joke that several already beat me to.
I'd take him, obviously. I was actually going through the portal some this week looking for 3/4's and one kids game I kind of like was Myles Stute from Vanderbilt. He's 153/388(39.4) from 3 the last two seasons. Was surprised to learn he played high school ball with TWill
This gentleman seemed like a pretty capable fellow in the games I watched. He would be an upgrade for the squad and I'd happily welcome him on the team.
He is basically a taller, worse version of Joey Baker, "just a shooter". Career 36.7% on TWO point FGs which is really, really bad for a 4 and he isn't much of a rebounder at all. But he is a stellar 3 point shooter which would help space things out if Hunter is back. Statistically looks to be below average on defense but not completely terrible, although in the tourney in late game situations Coach Tang would sub him out on defense and then sub him back in on offense.
His feet aren't stuck in concrete like Baker's though. You're probably not going to find a ferocious rebounder who also shoots 40% from 3. It's more likely an either/or scenario.
Damn I miss Chaundee
That 2 point %, oooof. So maybe not our first choice, but still probably better than what we have just from the shooting…
Who cares the guy isn't that good. In other news Mike Hunt from the Beavers OSU is in the portal he had a game where he scored 15 points vs. MSU two years ago he might be a good get for us. Really we are posting about some random guys in the portal who had one good game against MSU. So are new reason to get guys out of the portal they had a good game vs. MSU as a reason to pick them up in the portal. SMH
I just mentioned that he dropped 15 points on MSU as a fun aside. Maybe I should’ve left that out. The real draw is that he can play the 4 and shoots nearly 40% from 3, and it feels like Michigan should be looking at anyone with that description
Wait. Mike Hunt is a Beaver?!?
classic
And then after every random guy in the transfer post somebody has to ask if we have room for him on the team or why we need a player at position X.
Massoud was a good rotational piece on an elite 8 team. He also helps us stretch the floor.
Why do we have a hole at the 4 when we’re bringing back TWill and Tschetter?
Because neither of them are starting-caliber players for a high-major team. It’s also likely that Twill is transferring out with a “firm handshake” from the staff; probably the best outcome for both parties.
TWill isn’t transferring. Juwan needs to let TWill cook!!
I sincerely hope you're kidding
TWill put up an 18-11 game against Eastern because Juwan let him cook. Too bad Juwan didn’t trust him after that.
Because he can shoot.
You just answered your own question.
Oh, I thought his first name was Fish. Seemed kinda odd.
