As a Bulls fan, I want nothing to do with that slime ball. I don't care that he's in the pros. He'd probably somehow bring some scandal with him.

you should know that the Bulls need an up tempo coach to utilize their young legs and athleticism.  All those coaches you listed are half court-style coaches except for Thibodeau who we don't know about.  Say what you want about Calipari but at least his style of basketball fits the Bulls' needs.  He has underachieved a few times in college ball and made some questionable game management decisions but he is probably one of the few college coaches that could succeed given the right circumstances (and not the keys to the front office).

LMAO.

The NBA really need to come up with some fresh coaches.  I think Dougie boy is showing his mesh on his steel belted radials.

We just did that. His name was Vinny Del Negro and the outcome was fail. I'm not sure we would have done much better with most of the guys i listed above, but alas...firing VDN wasn't my decision to make

he can only win when he has vastly superior talent and even then he can't. he's never won an NCAA title despite having 2 number one overall picks. this season he had 3 lottery picks and what should end up being 5 total first rounders and STILL couldn't win it all. why would an NBA team want him?

I agree, his main strength is in recruiting which doesn't translate well to the NBA.  In that sense he reminds me a lot of Pete Carroll, though JC is much more of a sleaze than Carroll.  Calipari's run with the Nets was abysmal.  He really bombed last time he was there, and I'm not sure why a team would think he would be better.  He's not a good Xs and Os guy.

I've been following the saga with super recruit Terrence Jones from Portland, OR.  He had a press conference last week and though clearly torn, chooses Washington over Kentucky (his runner up) and Kansas.  Right after, he gets on the phone with Calipari, who proceeds to tell Jones that he made a wrong decision and not to sign the LOI.  Jones, who was about to sign his LOI, becomes confused and doesn't sign his LOI.  Now he's waffling between Washington and Kentucky, all the while Calipari, who was feeding Jones lines like how UK would prep him better for the NBA, may not even be coaching there next year.  That's sleazy and you don't do that to a 17-18 year old kid.

If Cal goes to Chicago, I'm almost certain D. Wade will join up.  I have no basis for this other than Cal would probably drop off unmarked envelopes of cash in Wade's mailbox from time-to-time.

That said, what prevents owners of pro teams from paying players under the table to circumvent the salary cap?  Do the players have to show tax forms or something?  I understand the risk involved, but I'm surprised it's never happened, or at least been exposed publicly.

Ultimately, I think that Calipari's overture to the Bulls is just a way for him to extort something from Kentucky.  I'd be very surprised if the Bulls wanted him or if he really wanted to leave.

But . . .

Calipari (not to mention Derrick Rose) is tight with World Wide Wes, the former street agent who is now a coaches' agent with CAA.  I believe that Wes is (or will become) Calipari's agent.

Wes is also tight with LeBron.

What if Wes could orchestrate a package deal for the Bulls -- LeBron & Calipari?

I don't think that will happen, but never underestimate the power of World Wide Wes.

So when will the NCAA begin investigating UK? Seems like Calipari only becomes interested in other jobs when his hand is about to be caught in the cookie jar.

I hope Kentucky fans were ready for this O-face, as fans of UMass and Memphis can attest. When Cal is done with you, don't expect him to call.
