With decent coaching the lions could be that or better. How many times have the Lions come out sloppy to give a 20 point lead and then come back to barely win or barely lose. Good coaching keeps them out of those sitatuations which means you're not relying on the refs to not screw them over. Falcons games was bad and the refs screwed that game up in my opinion. But again, that was a game where the Lions were trailing and going for a last second win.

Last stand? We’re talking about the Detroit Lions and Ford ownership. The Lions are playing for draft picks and Caldwell’s good for another losing season in 2018.

Admittedly, I am on board with those that would like to see Caldwell go after this year, but if he doesn't for some reason, then to me (and I have been famously wrong before) it comes down to either Quinn seeing something that doesn't appear to be there or Martha reserves for herself that final call on Caldwell. I guess I would like to see what Quinn's hire would be, if it is not Caldwell.

I honestly feel like poor OL play is on coaching. Lang and Wagner played great for the other teams but come to the Lions and the OL play stays below average? That's coaching and poor offensive game planning IMO. I think BQ has done a decent job considering how terrible the roster was when he got here. Building depth and trying to fix key issues as much as possible. Too many holes to fix in only 2 years.

I mean those two players specifically have been injured a fair amount this season. Most of the Lions OL has been in and out. Decker just got back 2 weeks ago, Swanson and Lang have been in and out w/ concussions, Wagner has been banged up. Graham glasgow has been the only healthy one.

No I do not think Harbaugh should be fired for poor line play... 1. There's a difference between having to rely on true freshman and true sophomores on the OL vs coaching NFL talent. Harbaugh needs time to recruit OL talent and then development. Can't acquire talent in FA like NFL. (Although the stuff with Ole Miss may make you think otherwise) Also, Harbaugh hasn't proven to be incompetent time and time again. Out coached some times? Sure. Harbaugh > Caldwell. Doesn't take a genius to understand that.

You’re sticking to it! I️ don’t have anything else to say. Your post explains it all! Yep! Fire Caldwell! That’ll solve all of you Lion lovers wishes! After he gets fired just bring back Schwartz! He was a great guy, and his personality was impeccable. He was below .500 by 20+ games and there have been a number of posters in here that would love to have him back! The Lion fanbase deserves to have a head coach with personality and sub .500 coaching. Can’t wait.

Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell's multiyear contract extension, signed earlier this year, appears to provide less job security than initially believed, a source confirmed to ESPN.

The source said Caldwell's extension is guaranteed for only 2018 with team options beyond that, so if the Lions decide to fire Caldwell, they would have to pay him for next season only.

It’s Caldwell’s fault that his personnel are all pro-bowlers and he cannot motivate, them! Just poor play calling! Yeah right! I️ can’t wait until you all get your wish!

The guy makes junior high level coaching mistakes. Hope we do get out wish because any team that consistently gets called for not having enough men on the field is not being coached by someone who is on top of their shit.

Why is it that any time someone has an agument you don't like you get all salty?

And nobody said shit about Schwartz. There are a lot of people out there who can coach and also make sure that the right number of guys are on the field.

Were you fired from a coaching job at some point? Because you often seem to be against any criticism of coaches on here.

So, in conclusion: GTFOH yourself.

Maynard suggests: Any middle school coach could have the Detroit Lions in second place in the NFC division. False
Secondly, you can argue anything about a coach. The fact that there have been other discussions about Caldwell in here that you are unaware of; doesn’t mean that some other posters have not mentioned that Schwartz was a better coach than Caldwell. True
Lastly, I️ don’t give a damn what you say the Lions just won despite all of your bickering about Caldwell. Truth

Your insults do nothing! It’s ok! Some people BITCH, and MOAN! You just BITCH, all the time. You said it earlier when people are critical of coaching I️ sometimes say something. But you offer zero conclusion or any positive solution. It’s your nature. I️m good, if you are. Lol

Just throw that dumb ass interception? Yeah please bring in the next coach! He’ll prevent Stafford from, being Stafford! When and if they do fire Caldwell, I️ will be sure to watch how you respond to the coaching; and his performance under the phenomenal leadership of Stafford. I️ agree this team needs a leader but it’s not at HEAD COACH!

Prince, a friend of Caldwell, is the OL coach. He's also been fired as HC at two colleges. I uess that qualifies him. So I think a new OL coach is on the way (sound familiar UM fans?) Mgmt killed the DL under Mayhem with salary cap measures so Suh was lost.

As Ford once said "how do you fire the owner."

I'd like to see a new franchise owner and I contribute to that by not buying Ford products. It gives me a small sense of accomplishment.
