Iowa rumors say he's going to Kentucky.

Saw that Kentucky inquired about McClung too.
With the Wild West of Transfer, I see Calipari being aggressive. Combine a few top 25 recruits with a few established college players reduces the risks calipari has dealt with the past few years.

Sorry first post. Saw this on my Google homepage. Someone worth kicking the tires on? https://amp.hawkcentral.com/amp/7281373002
Not really a need position.

No!...before anyone asks
Apparently his uncle responded to a Facebook post about Kentucky needing shooting, weeks back (pre-Ncaa tourney?), with a "help is coming". Will be quite fishy if he indeed ends up there.
Huge loss for Iowa.
Why would that be fishy?
(There's no content after the jump.)
I guess he realized Fran was never gonna get Iowa over the hump playing mediocre at best defense.
Kentucky is the likely choice, but I would not be surprised if Xavier was in the mix too. Although he went to HS across the river in Covington, he grew up across the street from me in Cincinnati, where his parents still live (less than 2 miles from Xavier's campus). He would be a very solid addition to X's team next year.
This seems like a pretty reasonable scenario and backup based on where he grew up. Xavier offered him out of HS. I didn't realize he walked on at Iowa which seems crazy per BHGP

Iowa fans are pissed. Sounds like Frederick has been recruited to Kentucky since mid-season at this point. They're mad at Frederick and KU for tampering.
I believe kentucky is UK and KU is Kansas. I would be pissed at the clear tampering as well if I were them
Yes, it's the Plains states that apparently have institutional dyslexia (NU, KU, OU, MU). The rest of the country abbreviates their schools in the actual order of the words in their name.
(Indiana is not an exception; it actually is Indiana University, so IU is correct.)
What if his circle reached out to Kentucky? That's how things are going in the world of the Portal. HS coaches, trainers, and maybe even family reaching out to other schools to determine the level of interest.
Imagine if someone told you 5 years ago that in 2021 Michigan would have the top recruiting class while Kentucky was interested in a 6foot shooting guard transfer from Iowa.
He’s a KY kid who grew up a UK fan but wasn’t offered. Not strange at all that he’d jump at the chance to play at UK. Won’t start at UK if he goes there but he would be a damn good addition for depth.
He sure can shoot, but like the rest of the Hawkeyes he can't (well doesn't) play defense. Michigan doesn't need him but it's a bit of a surprise he's leaving Iowa.
Seems as if Calipari has finally figured out that an entire team of one and done players is not the way to go. He’s really hitting the transfer market hard this off-season. With the talent he brings in, all he needs is a few other pieces and they’ll actually have a contender.
