OT-Georgia Tech gets probation and 1 year postseason ban
Looks like the NCAA finally went after and successfully punished a major player in the men's basketball world...just kidding they punished a school that wasn't going to the postseason anyways. Can't wait to see the "punishment" for Kansas.

Do we know if the $300 that Jack gave away were in singles? That's a serious wad of singles.

GT isn't fighting it like Kansas is.
September 26th, 2019 at 12:50 PM ^
GT hasn't been relevant in basketball for years, so what are they really losing by getting this punishment? Not much. Not worth their time or energy to fight this stuff.
Kansas, on the other hand, has everything to lose. So of course they're going to fight it if given the opportunity to do so.

...and NO dinner tonight for you, Kansas!
September 26th, 2019 at 1:09 PM ^
Just kidding. We can't stay mad at you, Kansas. Here's your dinner, but you get only 1/2 of a dessert.
**sneaks the other half of the dessert up to Kansas at bed time**

Considering GT hasn't been to any tournament since 2009-2010, this feels like a prudent move by them. Kansas, on the other hand, better hold onto its butt.
September 26th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
But if this is the punishment, why is KS even bothering to fight? They can just take a slap on the wrist like this (they also probably can get away with 1 year probation) and move on.
September 26th, 2019 at 1:04 PM ^
Because their real season is the postseason?
A lot of the starters that go through Kansas are only there for a year. A one-year ban would pancake their recruiting.
GT's postseason ban stings about as much as if I was forbidden from ever owning a yacht.

Do you really think all of the one and done players at KU care if they play in post season or not? I think they care the same amount as Gary did in the bowl game.
Real punishment would be to take them off TV or take a share of their TV and/or conference revenue.
September 26th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
Are you seriously trying to compare a basketball postseason with a seemingly meaningless football bowl game? The risk of injury in the two sports is vastly different.
September 26th, 2019 at 1:55 PM ^
Why would one-and-done players care about something that is not going to affect them whatsoever (except for that one single year of post season ban). Sure, recruiting for that single year would be bad, but why would any other recruits care about that after that year?

Not to worry. Emmert is going to hammer the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University in Georgia.

What is that animal on the logo? And is the smaller animal actively feeding?
September 26th, 2019 at 1:24 PM ^
The larger animal is Kansas and the smaller animal is Emmert/NCAA? ?♂️
I should probably neg myself for this.

No, your comment is perfectly reasonable given the facts. I upvoted you.

It was their turn in the ACC line of getting punished for Duke and UNC. Expect Wake Forest to get hammered soon
September 26th, 2019 at 1:14 PM ^
This is Kansas punishment. What until South Alabama gets punished for what Duke did.
September 26th, 2019 at 2:24 PM ^
Kansas punishment will be something like this:
Limit of two 5 star kids per year
Home games will be cut down from 30 to 28
NCAA gives Kansas an apology for catching them red handed
September 26th, 2019 at 5:18 PM ^
NCAA: “And you have to disassociate yourself from Stephon Marbury for a year.”
GT: “Can we go longer?”
