OT: Friday Open Thread - Whatcha working on today? Posbang anyone?

Submitted by profitgoblue on

So it looks like this might be a regular off-season thread since each of the last three Fridays I've wanted to jump out of my window here at work to put myself out of misery.

Whatcha working on today?  Any good or interesting plans for the weekend?

Me, I've got the monumental task of figuring out what to get profitgowife for Mother's Day and trying to negotiate a confidentiality agreement with an a--hole lawyer on the other side.  This weekend is filled with kids stuff, including a toddler birthday party at a playground tomorrow.  Actually, a pretty nice little Saturday.  We might make a trip to Home Depot.  Maybe Bed Bath & Beyond.  I don't know.  I don't know if we'll have enough time.

One of the big 3 automakers is coming for a Run-At-Rate next week as we start production on a new product, so I'm getting tons of paperwork in order. Needless to say, I'll be on this thread a lot today.

I'm thinking about getting on the jet and heading over to Paris for a late dinner. After that I think we'll jump down to Monte Carlo since it's looking like a nice weather day on Saturday. Probably come home for Sunday and watch the staff fox up the lawn and open the pool.

Ah, who am I kidding. Got a little league game tonight and two tomorrow. In between i have to mow my hayfield and edge the driveway. Hoping theres no rain tomorrow. Thaaaaats about it.

I've had the last three episodes of the Walking Dead DVR'd for what seems like an eternity. Haven't had the opportunity to watch them until now. Finally.

Currently enjoying my Friday latte with blue berry scone, then I'll procrastinate.

After work, tomorrow and Sunday I am riding big miles to prepare for a 100 mile mountain bike race in June. I'll probably drink some belgium beer with my racing team after the rides.

My life is actually pretty good right now.

same as everyday, reading the internets for tidbits to freak out / sulk about michigan football. maybe kick it over to the onion AV club, see what they thought of last night's idol, movie reviews, etc. after that, clean my desk, eat lunch for coworker's b-day, go home, maybe go for a run, hose off the senator's daughter in my basement well, eat some dinner, probably fall asleep watching melancholia again,.

trying to find the source of ESD that destroys a PCB in vehicles.  Most vehicles are in China, but a few in Arizona.  I need to do this by 5pm today.  HA!!!     Not going to happen.  M SB plays Purdue series for the B1G Championship today.  Exploding cars will have to wait.

Tomorrow: Sipping a tottie in the Gray lot.  Hopefully it does not rain.

Physics test in 15 minutes, then on to starting my 10 pager about the fate of the Juan de Fuca plate. It's going to be a long Friday.

First week of my internship at Ford.  So I've created this spreadsheet, which is supposed to show all the money spent on purchased services by various programs over the past whatever years, and thanks to not having all the software totally installed yet on my computer I've had to move this (very bulky) spreadsheet back and forth between computers, one of which is Windows 7 and the other being XP, and as a result it's a formatting disaster.  So my time this morning has been spent formatting this thing.

I'm eating lunch at Arby's and an elderly couple just sat down at the next table. The husband is wearing an MSU hat and the wife has an ND sweatshirt. Is there age limit for heckling opposing fans?

I would not call myself "elderly", although a high school kid asked me if I needed help unloading my truck the other day and called me sir.  I was thinking about saying something to them, but the husband started talking about indigestion and burping so I just kind of let it go.  I'm thinking their kids probably attended the schools, or one attended both (oh the humanity!).  I can't hack on someone for being proud of their kids, even in that case.

Swigging some C modules to import them into my Python test framework.

Maybe one person knows what I am talking about? Maybe.. After that go home, drink and work on homework for the class I am taking on the side.

I lead the most boring life ever.
