OT: Dwayne Haskins experiment over

Submitted by uofmchris1 on October 7th, 2020 at 10:14 AM

The Washington Football Team has announced that Dwayne Haskins will be benched in place of Kyle Allen.

As if it couldn't get worse for Haskins, the Washington Football Team announced former one legged QB Alex Smith with be promoted to the #2 spot - backing up Allen.

From starting QB to 3rd stringer over night.

But, dude got paid. He's got that going for him.

Yeah, this will work out great.  Now the Lions can select Trevor with the #1 overall pick and peddle Stafford to the Redskins for a 2nd round....

Oh wait, that would be some forward thinking.....

Lions should offer Stafford for draft picks - Washington still has a shot at playoffs in that terrible division, and it's time for Detroit to go into full blown rebuild.  (this coming from a non-Lions Steelers fan, but I have won my Fantasy Football league 3 of 4 years and am pretty skilled in Madden)

So 11w all in on Jay Gruden being the problem.  He wasn’t on the Haskins train! I think That excuse will be offered up for Fields one day.  Not a pro style qb

The B1G has had 2 1st round quarterback draft picks in the last 25 years (Kerry Collins & Dwayne Haskins).

In just the past 10 years Oklahoma has had 3 QB's drafted #1 overall.

I actually liked Haskins coming out in the draft, even though I thought he was incredibly overrated in terms of draft stock. He should never have been anything more than a day 2 pick.

He was a guy who needed a really good QB coach and to sit for a year or even two. I think that would have paid huge dividends for him instead of him being tossed into the fire right away with the worst supporting cast and management in the NFL. Had he gone to a team like Atlanta, New Orleans, Green Bay, or New England, I think he would have been able to sit and learn for a bit and then be prepared to succeed.

These things always happen with corporate take overs and mergers..... The Redskin's drafted the guy, thought he was their best option at QB.... The Washington Football team takes over the organization and decides to go a different direction.
