OT: Congrats to Rockford HS baseball, and little Ian
Just a quick congrats to Rockford's baseball team on a state title, and a big congrats to some friends of ours who've been through the ringer lately. A good read from the Freep...
Very cool story, and that's great for the team and for Ian. Seems like something Disney could get their hands on...
Also, in the vein of high school states, shameless plug for my former high school, Novi girls' soccer just won states and is #1 in the country. Lots of friends on the team (some of whom I know read this blog..), so congrats to them!
Resisting urge to say something about Rockford on here that I may regret later. Born and raised in Grandville. Go Dawgs!
Screw Rockford.
Screw you.

say that to Ben Braden...
EDIT: HOLY SHIT, Wife in South Bend is chiming in for the first time in MGoBlog history. It's a red-letter day. She's a Rockford grad, and she has the following comment:
"Be nice to Rockford. It's a bunch of little white kids from the suburbs. They have to try really hard to be good at sports. So, be nice."
Damn right.
They have tons of kids so they have a big advantage.
Yeah, when I was in high school at shores rockford's cross country and track coach got busted for giving his athletes illegal supplements. So screw Rockford. I have family that are Rockford alums, but I still hate that school.
Go Mona Shore Sailors!
Some of the dirtiest players. Go dawgs!
Proud alum...GO RAMS!
Eventual proud parent of alum, Go Rams!
A nice article and a nice run for the team. The kids worked hard and deserved it.
My 2 oldest nephews garduated from there (the 2nd one was this year) and my youngest is currently a student. Way to go Rams!
From a current Temperance Bedford student
Hate to say it, but they're some of the dirtiest players.
Ian Hearn was my old high school coach and and a very good teacher of the game. but like this story says, he cared way more about the guys on the team and his family. I am glad for him, Good to see he and the family are doing well in Rockford.
Also, congrats on the state title.
I went to high school in the "home county" (i.e., Washtenaw), so we had Saline, Ann Arbor Pioneer and Huron, Dexter, Chelsea, Lincoln Consolidated, Milan, Whitmore Lake, Ypsilanti and a few others, and I swear the only one that I can remember making the finals when I was in high school was Chelsea, where I was not.....
