OT: Best music vid you've seen

Submitted by Asquaredroot on

There's this band that's only partially based in my neck of the woods called Ramona Falls. They've clearly conspired with the devil vis a vis a soul sale or three in order to make the best music video I can ever recall seeing:

Granted, I'm an old-timer who grew up in the golden age of the music video (i.e. - back when MTV lived up to it's moniker), but I've never seen any video that so perfectly portrayed a song as this one. Every aspect of the video whether it be timing, lighting, color or intensity is perfectly meshed with the music to deliver a complete story beyond what music or art could do alone.

Even if you can't stand the music, I think there's a good chance you'll appreciate the video for delivering it so well.

If you've got a music video you appreciate above all others, drop a link and enlighten the rest of us.

"Wild in the Streets" by Garland Jeffreys. The song itself is from the early 70's, though I'm assuming the video was made fairly recently. Garland was known for his sound, blending rock, soul, blues and reggae. The video is a montage of street scenes from the mid 70's in New York, presumably The South Bronx. If you've ever wondered what the Hip-Hop culture looked like in its infancy check the video out, it gives you a pretty good idea of what was going on during the Pre-Bling Era of Hip-Hop.

is the greatest music video of all time. However, it's extremely NSFW, so I don't think I'll be posting that one. Feel free to check it out on YouTube though....It's worth it.
