OT: Is anyone else enjoying watching SEC D getting run?

Submitted by VictorBlue on
Is anyone else enjoying their NYE by watching these vaunted SEC Defenses getting lit up today? Must be a bitter pill for ESPN to swallow while broadcasting their pet conference struggling in prime time. Gives me Hope that our return to prominence can be sooner rather than later. HARBAUGH GO BLUE

I am enjoying that. I also can't get over how empty the stadiums are. The entire upper decks seemed to be empty in all of the games I have seen.

I bet any team that gets a real road presence from its fans in bowl/playoff games could have a huge advantage.

I can't pull for the Buckeyes tomorrow.  Living in 99% of OSU country (my wife included) it would be intolerable if they won tomorrow, let alone a national title.  I've always looked at it that I like when the Big Ten does well for perception, but I'm all Michigan fan. If Michigan wins the NC and the rest of the Big Ten is lousy, I'm ok with that.  Most of the OSU fans I run around with, I get the same sense.  They say they want the Big Ten to be perceived well, but I'm pretty sure if all of the B1G teams were lousy and they still won big, they wouldn't really care.  Here's to hoping Harbaugh and 2015 turns the rivalries and big picture, back in our favor.

Someone at a party tonight also brought up a good point about the travelling factor for the committee.  If they view everything else equal in terms of performance throughout the year, who's the more attractive team, OSU or TCU?  Hands down, OSU will travel better and be perceived more favorably nationally than TCU, who doesn't have near the alumni base that OSU does.

I'm rooting B1G all the way tomorrow, OSU to beat Bama but lose in NCG.

The B1G needs to win the big bowls, it matters, now that we have Harbaugh, the image of the conference took an upturn in such a huge way, all these years that the B1G has been bagged on were the non good Michigan years.

OSU couldn't do it by itself, when we are elite, it matters way more than when OSU is elite.

I live by the Superdome and my neighborhood is overrun with Buckeye and Bama fans. It is maximum awful. But I'm actually hoping that the Big Ten can knock the SEC off its pedestal.

I love watching the sec get run out of the building. And I know I should root for the Big Ten as far as bama/ osu ,but I'm so confused!! I hate both teams and coaches. It's like having to root for either Hitler or Bin Laden. Just can't bring myself to do either. Maybe I just won't watch at all. THAT will show them!!

Honestly,  I was on ESPN on the TCU/Miss game and posted a comment that the SEC was overrated this year... How much the SEC homers come out and talk about the games 2 days ago (Ark, Georgia, Texas A&M) and how they are 4-1 in the bowls.. I even tell them overrated is in reference to their rankings in the poll (not the conference position).. Then they would state that how they will do well.. I guess their #7 and #9 rank team both got destroyed and how much these homers are all quiet and not responding back after arguing on their stance (which they do not have a consistent standard of basis)... I just like this because it just keep proving that SECSPN promoted not because they were the better teams but rather due to $$$$... Instead of being fair and unbias, the whole conference are coming out to be not as great/premier as they are to the other power 5.... I enjoy this moment because I have stood firm that SEC was overrated all year and they benefitted from their high pre-season ranking and bias vaulting and mitigated devaulting when they win and lose because they were the SEC.... The constant spin that ESPN keeps making SEC to be... All said and done.. SEC is flopping... For me, I want Ohio to beat Bama (I hate Ohio... Trust me...) But I rather the other Power 5 conferences tp make a statement to SEC and their fans to shut your mouth...  Then I want Oregon/FSU to whip Ohio.... SEC is a greater evil than Ohio right now... Getting rid of the SEC myth will help the Big Ten and overall Michigan in the long run...

I'll hold my nose and try not to vomit but winning games is good for the Big Ten.  I want to see a final of tOSU and Oregon with the Ducks running them out of the building in the 1st qtr.  My wife is a Ducks fan so that would be just fine with her as well.

Even sweeter to beat Sparty and tOSU when they are full of pride.

The Harbaugh hiring and postseason success only helps the BigTen brand *Brandoned* which will get more high level recruits interested.  More bowl wins means more teams ranked higher in the pre and early season polls and unless they crater finishing higher in the final rankings as well.

SEC brand is built on post season and wild over rankings to start the season.  Remember South Carolina and Texas A&M rankings to start last season?  I'd rather have Minnesota and Rutgers wildly over ranked and the talking heads talking about the resurgent BigTen than another year of pitiful bowl performances.

I can't wait for the SEC spin on the losses..  Bowl games don't mean anything etc etc..  I mean Ole Miss and MissSt resume was built on wins over bad A&Mand SCarolina teams ranked rematurely in the top10.

SEC really is the best, their tears are the most delicious I've tasted!

a lot of both the Mississippi schools this year.  Ole Miss's injuries were devastating, they were a shadow of their early season self the last 4 or 5 weeks of the season.

Miss State just seemed to run out of gas, and teams started finding ways of slowing down Dak Prescott.

Two good teams that couldn't finish what they started.  I'd take both by double digits over Michigan and the majority of the BIG
