Now if it could just turn out that Aerosmith was on MH370, we would be making real progress.

Am a huge classic rock fan myself.  This is a pretty questionable story.  Tons of other media outlets have rejected this including many of the big writers on the scene.  Have been rumors that someone has been in bad health for awhile, but nothing close to this.

They play a type of music (blues-based hard rock) that ages as well as any "popular" music; many of their heroes played in to their 70s and 80s.

More importantly, they still make tens of millions of dollars through touring. If they announced an arena/stadium tour tomorrow, they could sell 10-20,000 seats in most markets, and many times that in LA, NYC and most Europe and South America. Bands "retire" and then realize, "Hey, I could be making millions!" and then they are back in the game.

I will say, I just happened to watch a bit of a ~2-3 year old concert of their's on AXS last night (totally random; didn't even realize I had that channel). I thought the drummer was going to have a heart attack/stroke from the 2nd song on; he looked gassed. Of course, it didn't help he smoked a cigarette (with no hands) thru their entire 3rd song, but I'm sure that's not their worst vice.

BEST. BAND. EVER.  Long live the power chords.

People always say that all of the albums sound the same. I always say good. I know when AC/DC has a new album out it won't have a keyboard or any special guest on it. Just rock n roll.
