Per Ryan 3rd base Day, Williams out for season with undisclosed injury.

He looks to me like he is finding the every down back gear.  He was a load against Wisconsin.

OSU is beating teams in different ways now.  All jokes about “toughness” aside, they are winning ugly and grinding things out.  Reminds me a bit of Michigan in 2021. Will be a battle tested team when we play them.

Yeah, he looked tough (jokes aside) and had a big burst.  OSU is the #3 team in the nation and deservedly so.  With Henderson back and their WR core they'll be hard to stop even if Honda McCord is just serviceable.  Their defense is also coming together.  The Game is going to be two heavy weights trading punches.  OSU will have an opportunity to prove their toughness.

I think they are gaining confidence with that thought and finding some resilience.  OSU played “entitled” football the last two years.  They don’t look like that this year.  I do not think they will fall over with a soft nudge this year. Just my opinion.

I don't think you need lumps but it just feels overly concerned.

As I said, I did not watch Wisconsin but I watched most of their other games and he looked the same as ever. They cannot grind tough yard and struggle against good teams.

The difference in their OL/QB play is also night and day from previous yeats.

Their defense may have improved but they still have not played a functional offense

I have to agree. Also, don't sleep on McCord. It took a minute for him to settle in, but he is getting better every week. Despite his early stumbles, kid is currently fifth in the country in total QBR. While not as dynamic as JJ, he is probably the second best QB in the B1G right now and improving every week.

An OSU account on Twitter was pointing out that he's good when he can run in a straight line, and, so that's what Day has tried to do. Still looks like the same back. He's tough, but fragile, not a lot of wiggle (a la Corum), can be a load to bring down but doesn't break a ton of tackles.

I wasn't really sure what to make of his Wisconsin performance. It wasn't bad by any stretch, but he was oftentimes either getting 10-15 yard chunks or getting stonewalled at the line.

It wasn't very efficient, but it worked and that's all that matters. I also don't know how good Wisconsin's defense is.

Last season, their preseason RB depth chart was projected to be:

1 - TreyVeon Henderson

2 - Miyan Williams

3 - Evan Pryor

4 - Dallan Hayden

This preseason, people expected the depth chart to be:

1 - TreyVeon Henderson

2 - Miyan Williams

3 - Chip Traynaum

4 - Dallan Hayden

5 - Evan Pryor

TreyVeon and Miyan have again been dealing with injuries, which has lead them to lean heavily on Chip Traynaum so far - but when the room is fully healthy Henderson is the best back , but he is fragile.

Williams is like their Mullings - a big power guy.

Henderson is their feature back. Their running game looked a lot better against Wisconsin than it did against Penn State, without Henderson.

I could be wrong, but I thought he was their toughest back in The Game. Maybe it was 2021? He seemed to run hard and they stopped going to him, after Ross knifed through on that 3rd and short. Especially in the redzone. As always, I could be full of shit.

Feels like the game is going to come down to whether or not Michigan can get McCord under siege, and whether we can combat OSU's efforts to get Harrison matched up with anyone other than Will Johnson. That said I dont think their defense has seen anything like Michigan's offense yet

Last year I thought Miyan was their best RB. This season I have thought Trayanum is their best RB.

The commentators and broadcasters however have thought Henderson is the best RB in the history of RBs since he stepped on campus. Despite the fact that he has broken less tackles than Derrick Green.

Williams has been used sparingly this season, which was surprising to me; I thought he would play a more prominent role. He got a lot of action against PSU with both Henderson & Trayanum out, but otherwise had only 25 carries all season.

Would like to see him return for 2024, especially assuming that TreVeyon leaves.

I'm not Chuck, but I like to think I'm pretty level headed.

The OL this season, probably one of the weaker run blocking lines in memory at Ohio State, but have gotten much better over the last couple weeks. Some of that is run scheme. Pretty good pass blocking overall, but certainly can get beat a few times a game. And McCord needs to improve his pocket presence, that would help his OL tremendously, because a number of the sacks and other bad plays have been his fault, not the OL. All of this is self evident, no surprises. The OSU OL room 2 years ago was incredibly strong, never got the credit that it deserved. 4 of those 5 starters left with remaining eligibility, and 4 of them are currently starting in the NFL. But the problem for that room was that the previous OL coach Studrawa had completely whiffed for a couple years in recruiting, so there was almost no depth behind Munford, Petit-Frere, Johnson, Jones, and Wypler and the couple highly ranked guys that we did have remaining have struggled. Hard to believe that Ohio State is starting a left tackle transferred from San Diego State. But Simmons has really started to come on and athletically he is gifted. If only he could stop the silly penalties.
