Opposing coaches on preparing for Beilein in March

I thought that this was interesting article focused on talking to other coaches from Loyola, Montana etc. about preparing for Michigan in the tournament.  The interviews are from prior years so much of the focus is on defending Wagner, but I can see elements of what teams have tried to do this year with switching.  Anyway, I don't have anything close to a sophisticated knowledge of defensive schemes, but thought this was worth a look.

It was very disturbing, this season, to see a 75yr old heart-bypass Buffalo gentleman fouled out of a game.  Quite clearly, in every interview - the quickest, most thorough, thoughtful, quick-witted coach.  I haven't seen a more articulate, loquacious person in athletics.  We are fortunate to watch him and follow him, and we are perhaps lucky.

The key to Michigan's success is them taking advantage of the options the opposition is giving them-because this is a "pick your poison" deal against this balanced Michigan team. MSU has placed a premium on denying Poole and Livers the ball as much as possible and hedging help to contain them when they do get the ball. They have bet that Simpson and Teske cannot sustain enough offense to beat them. This worked twice. It will be interesting to see how Matthews changes the dynamics here. It will also be interesting to see how much Livers plays the five-which would give Brazdeikis and Matthews wider creases to attack the rim.

It would be very nice to see "It is very difficult to beat a team three times in a season" come home to roost.
