Online Rumblings - Rod Moore Torn ACL

Submitted by Watching From Afar on March 25th, 2024 at 9:34 PM

Would normally just wait around to see someone confirm it, but there has been talk that Moore tore his ACL.

Which... would not be good for obvious reasons.

It's what the proprietors of this blog refer to another blog as. I don't know if it's purposely not referenced directly on here, so I follow their lead. If you google "Mgoblog Edge of the Internet" you'll see where they've popped up in other rumor/news situations.

It is unfortunately 100% true.  Which is a big blow went from the deepest and best safety room in the nation to, I do t know now.   Saab leaving really hurts now.   If he stayed he would have been the starter.   Hopefully one of the young guys step up and More can comeback for 7 or 8 games. Poor kid could have went pro and been a 2nd Rd pick.  I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.   Go Blue!

Absolutely. And if anyone can do it, Moore can do it.

From the linked article:

“I want to be that story kids can look up to, look up to me when they go through something like I did and know that it will be OK,” Rodgers told Dellenger. “It’s about your mindset and how, if you have the right mindset, you can definitely bounce back and come back stronger than before.”

The article also said:

“His junior year, the ACL injury really hampered him,” Clemson receivers coach Tyler Grisham said recently. “He had a brace on all year. Whether he knew it or not, he just wasn’t 100 percent, and you could tell by his play. He was favoring it at times. If you’re playing in the slot, you have to have elite change of direction, explosion, suddenness in and out of your breaks, and he wasn’t able to perform at the level that he could because of that injury. He came back so fast and he was legitimately healthy enough to return to play. He had an 80-something-yard reception [against Syracuse] that he took the house and stiff-armed a dude and outran the rest of the defense. But, you look at the totality of his play and it wasn’t to his standard”

I’m not trying to be negative, just realistic. Even if he is that rare case that comes back quickly, the odds of him playing at an elite level this season aren’t very good. I hope he proves me (and everyone else who assumes he’s done for the year) wrong.

It is how the ACL is used in knee movement and where it is located.  Those meniscus can be one week and playing football again for some depending on the injury.  I know there are 6 types of meniscus tears.  The ACL connects the thigh bone to shin bone depending on the injury you can see why the ACL is way more concerning then a meniscus.

If you hurt or injured both it is a longer more complicated then if you just tore ACL as the knee is now that more unstable.   Now if he Injured LCL and ACL then he would be done until next year in almost all cases. Dont say all because nothing is 100%.   But we won't know anything until the surgeons can actually go in and see what his knee looks like.   Did the ACL tear in half or was it a partial?  How bad is the swelling any blood flow loss to the area so we won't know anything more concrete until after he is opened up.   Also with some people with meniscus they can still play if they don't risk further damage and if they can deal with pain and keep swelling down .   Many NBA players or football have down it during the seasons.

Depending on 1 how bad the tear is? 2 what medications can he take while being on a college team?   Igf1 HGH along with TB 500 and BPC 157 can help heal an Injury by a lot of he can use them.   Also using PRP and or stem cell after surgery can make a hell of a difference.  Us regular people don't get that unless we have $$ to pay out of pocket and you have a great knowledgeable surgeon.   Can't push it to hard or ignore S/S that he is pushing it to hard so he doesn't have a set back.   Can be possible as the person posted below with Rodgers. Can't imagine he will ever be 100% or close to it this year but an 85% Moore is better then most players.

When I was having a difficult recovery from a knee surgery in my late 20's, my surgeon told me "HGH would be  miracle for you. It would completely solve your problem and get your recovery on track but congress made it a felony for me to prescribe it to you because they care more about people not cheating in baseball then they do normal people's recovery"

To be clear, that is a direct quote from my orthopedic surgeon in Manhattan Beach Ca (I believe a couple of surgeons in that office actually worked with some southern California pro sports teams) so it was in fact the opinion of a true medical professional at the time I received it.

Even if Sabb came back, it's not a replacement for the "quarterbacking" that Moore was going to do (like Mikey last year). Just read how Wink talks about Moore:

In the short amount of time that Martindale has spent in Ann Arbor since he was hired, one player's football brain has already stood out in a big way, and it shouldn't come as a surprise to Michigan fans.

"Rod Moore, he's the safety that, and I'm not talking about play-wise or anything else. Smart-wise, football knowledge-wise, all that," Martindale said. "...That's exciting to me because there's a lot of checks that have to be made on the field, and it's like, well, the head pieces, the ear pieces coming in now, which is great because that's what I'm used to. There's still signals going to be going on. Rod is like, 'If they go hurry up, what should we do?' Call the defense. You can't be wrong. He's that smart."

And . ..

"He reminds me of Eric Weddle," Martindale said. "And he was one of the smartest safeties I've ever coached. And so I called Weddle and told him about it."

I swear that Michigan sports can't just have a good thing happen without a bad thing happening soon after. This is also why Keon Sabb deciding to leave also sucks even more

Nah. Truth is, what was really amazing was Michigan staying essentially injury-free all of last season. Injuries — even major injuries — are a common part of football, and the fact that no starters (that I can remember, at least) missed significant snaps last year due to injury is flat-out amazing.

That being said ... it would sure be nice to hear Moore's injury isn't that serious, or that he can somehow come back during the season. We need you, Rod!
