I'm not that mad at the defense.  Halfcourt D has had a few breakdowns but we've seen worse.  It's the turnovers that are irritating.  They're what's really keeping Ohio in the game.

OSU is a team that wont die easy.  If we're gonna win we are going to have to play with the same energy we played with to start the game.

Looking at you GRIII.......

But we're a PRIME candidate for an upset in the tournament.

This team is a lot more 2012 than it is 2013.

We play NO defense. Even Caris who's supposed to be the best defender on the team is letting Scott hit open shot after open shot.

GRIII is still pillow soft. And we handle pressure worse than Tony Romo in the 4th quarter.

The best part of last year's team is that they were sneaky underrated defensively. This year, we're a better shooting team, but if we don't score almost every time down...we're in trouble.

I'd prefer we just played defense.

It's not a novel concept and it's not like I'm wrong...if this team wasn't Michigan, I'd definitely pick against it in the tournament as a #1 or #2 seed.

If they defended better and didn't rely so much on hot shooting then I'd take them far.

Remember our shooting last year? Until the Florida game Burke, THJ and Stauskas were AWFUL in the tournament. You can't rely on shooting. However, we still won because we did SO many other things well.

This is OSU - a team that generally sucks on offense. If we play like this in the tournament and run into an actual hot shooting team then they are going to obliterate us

However, we were also certain towards the tail end of the 2013 regular season that we were doomed to be bounced on the 1st weekend. Regular season doesn't necessarily translate to tournament

I picked us to go to the Final Four LONG before anyone did last year. Ass.

If you don't like the truth, get the fuck off the board. You don't have to agree.

Look at that SAME team last year...they were an awful shooting team in the tournament until the Elite 8 and still advanced. When this team doesn't hit shots...it's a completely different team. When that team didn't hit shots...they found other ways to win.

You choose to rant about a team with a lead in a semi-final game shooting well, winning consistently and well coached.

Sure guy, teams that are experienced, well coached (that make good adjustments) and win their conference by 3 games...yeah, they are PRIME candidates for an upset. It was probably their effort that cost the three games, right?

I thought there were times where our set defense did manage to cut off penetration.  The last few minutes of the half we were careless with the ball.  Hard to play defense after turnovers.

Stop stupid turnovers and we probably win by a dozen.  Also Horford has reverted to some seriously bad basketball.  A shame that Morgan missed that front end of the 1 and 1, too.  Not sure what Coach can tell them about stopping the turnovers that he hasn't said a million times.

There are times when it feels like 98th is too high of an efficiency rank for our defense.

Watching OSU's 126th ranked offense shred it to sad little bits is one of those times.

We can't let Caris handle the ball when Craft is on him.

Also, we were in the bonus for like 8 minutes and we barely got to the line.

Unless Caris LeVert wakes the fuck up and starting handling the ball like he showed early in the year.

Or have GR3 bring the ball up from time to time.

We can't play Spike and Walton together because Ohio has too much height on the wing...we can't even go 1-3-1 with them on the floor because Walton doesn't have the length to play up top.

This is a game where we SORELY miss THJ. He could defend the OSU wings and he had enough handle to break a press when Craft took Burke out of the game from a PG perspective.

Tip: don't read the mgoblog open threads. The only people who post are the ones who are upset enough at the way things are going to expend their frustrated energy here. The overly-optimistic posters get shouted down by the negativity.

And the even keel, reasonable people who might say "hey, it's basketball, a lot of it comes down to luck, we're halfway through a 40 minute game it should all even out in the end, and if it doesn't, it's just a game and not the end of my life" don't even bother.

It's amazing to me how EVERY team when they get a big lead starts playing for style points instead of just keep on doing what got them there.

Damn kids.

Damn lawn...GET OFF IT!
