Ohio State opens as 30 point favorite against Michigan
This is the largest point spread in the rivalry since 1978, when the FBS and FCS split into separate divisions.
https://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/30464083/ohio-state-buckeyes-installed-30-point-favorite-michigan-wolverines
The previous largest point spread came in 2014 when the Buckeyes opened as 21-point favorites against the Wolverines. In other words, Harbaugh is leading one of the worst Michigan teams ever against Ohio State. Smoke them if you got them, boys.

Year 6 into his tenure. This is what Warde Manuel thinks is deserving of an extension apparently.
December 6th, 2020 at 8:23 PM ^
The decision to continue with this D the past few years is the reason the line is where it is.
But I'd still take the points. Our guys would be heroes if they win. If Cade is playing, I'll take the points all day.
December 6th, 2020 at 9:01 PM ^
Cade is done, probably for season
December 6th, 2020 at 9:34 PM ^
You’d still take the points? I think that’s a bad take. That means if Ohio state scores a modest 50 points, we would have to score 20 points. First, how does Michigan keep Ohio state under 50 (asking for a friend)? Second, how does Michigan score 20?
ohio state simply does not treat us or this game like any other. They will not relent. They’re going to literally try to nuke our team.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:42 AM ^
They can bad take that ass all they want, Vegas is never wrong.
December 7th, 2020 at 2:59 AM ^
If Vegas is never wrong, I’m taking a 30 point spread to mean Vegas already knows Don Brown and the rest of the defensive staff have already been fired and they are letting the players call the plays.
December 7th, 2020 at 10:08 AM ^
Vegas has clearly not talked to ryan day...... because there's no way Michigan is scoring 70 pts in this game
December 7th, 2020 at 10:19 AM ^
Vegas hasn't been right about Michigan at any point this season.
December 7th, 2020 at 9:17 AM ^
This is the easiest bet ever.
A long time ago Ohio State announced they would hang 100 on Michigan.
If you believe we can score 71 points Saturday then this is the LOCK OF THE YEAR!
Go Blue!
December 7th, 2020 at 12:34 PM ^
I think your right - don't forget Day already threatened to do just that. These coaches have long memories.

December 7th, 2020 at 5:15 PM ^
That’s the way I see it too. They put 60+ and 50+ points on us the last two years when we had defenses that were good against other teams. What will they do to this defense?
This game must never be played
December 6th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
Close to 36 hours since that "report" and there have been no other insiders to confirm it. And the source is dubious to begin with. Nothing from Warde, nothing from Harbaugh. I'm calling BS. Harbaugh has not been extended. He will not be extended. He will be resigning in two weeks.
December 6th, 2020 at 9:43 PM ^
I fully understand that your opinion is just like everyone else's, but I'm going to subscribe to it anyway.
Now, if it doesn't happen, I'm going to blame you and you're going to have to accept it.
December 6th, 2020 at 9:54 PM ^
Dear Warde, it's do or die time. Or, as Gene Hackman would say in a severely underrated movie from the 90s:
December 6th, 2020 at 9:56 PM ^
Warde doesn’t wanna fire him. He’s hoping he leaves on his own perhaps? Back to the NFL. Texans, Chargers, Falcons, Lions, Jets, Bears, and maybe Broncos seem like the open spots. Hopefully it can happen, but that nfl timeline is jacked up. Nothing would happen until season is over which is Jan. The real question, do we hear an extension or parting of ways by 12-16 for signing day? Odd situation. Don’t think anyone knows what will happen.
December 6th, 2020 at 10:01 PM ^
Or maybe, just maybe, they have already talked about things and Warde already knows what he's planning to do?
December 6th, 2020 at 10:15 PM ^
Maybe. If it’s extension it will come out in the next week. Otherwise you couldn’t handle this situation any worse with signing day.
December 6th, 2020 at 11:52 PM ^
If that’s the case, Warde has still failed. Continuing to be radio silent when you’ve already made a decision does nothing but hurt this program. Wait to fire him and you lose out on coaching prospects, let recruits out of their NLI and have guys transfer off of the team. Wait to sign him and recruits get nervous, as well as any current players who have decided to transfer simply because they don’t like the coaches. There is simply no advantage to waiting to announce. This is a complete failure of the administration.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:26 AM ^
I know a guy close to the program who has said it’s a 5 year extension with a pay increase. You have no reason to believe me, a random guy on the internet, but my source is someone who was on the team with Harbaugh in the 80s and has spoken with him recently. Could just be rumors, but I’m 100% expecting an extension.
December 7th, 2020 at 9:01 AM ^
If Warde was smart and wanted to do an extension, his base pay should drop substantially and his pay should all be tied to bonuses. 10win season? Bonus. Win over OSU? Bonus. Win over State? Smaller Bonus. Playoff appearance? Bonus. Championship game? Bonus.
Harbaugh claims he's Meritrocity driven, make his pay tied to how well he does. Years like this, he doesn't make shit.
December 7th, 2020 at 7:39 AM ^
Isn't the early signing period like 12/16 or so? If so, do you think they can wait that long? My money is we know in days. From a PR perspective you have to figure out how to play it though if you extend Harbaugh. Not great optics right before or after osu dominates this team but you can't keep jerking around as these kids need to know who the coach is going to be.
If the game is cancelled that would make announcing an extension much easier. I just think you have to let these young men and their families know what's going on.
It would be the most Michigan Football thing ever to have this recruiting class torn apart because of the waffling and then announce his extension in late December anyway.
December 7th, 2020 at 9:26 AM ^
Time to JETSET.....
December 6th, 2020 at 7:55 PM ^
I imagine rumors of us being down to our 3rd QB and others being held out for COVID are affected this line
December 6th, 2020 at 7:57 PM ^
Maybe. But you saw what osu’s second string did to sparty right?
December 6th, 2020 at 8:08 PM ^
This must be a halftime spread, their super computer is still calculating the full game spread!
December 6th, 2020 at 8:19 PM ^
I mean they’ve beat us by almost that with many of our starters in the game the past two years. Don’t really need to see this game and then watch Nebraska kick our asses the following week. It’s December. Time for Christmas and happy things.
December 6th, 2020 at 8:51 PM ^
OSU had 20+, including 5 starters Saturday and still won by 40. I think the 30 point line is exactly what it would be with both teams healthy. I ain't taking the 30.
December 7th, 2020 at 8:53 AM ^
I'm encouraged to hear we have a 3rd QB even if *his identity is a mystery to me.
*I'll assume it's a he, and we're not in a "pull the women's softball starting pitcher" situation.
December 6th, 2020 at 7:55 PM ^
This clearly deserves a contract extension.....Warde if you have some sanity left please fucking fire him and go after Campbell!
December 6th, 2020 at 9:42 PM ^
In before SalvatoreQuattro comes to tell us he's never won a conference title and he'll never do better than Harbaugh and it's all institutional problems.
December 6th, 2020 at 9:51 PM ^
You cant cure stupid but you can medicate it!
December 7th, 2020 at 8:39 AM ^
He was a real person - for real:

Google - what a product/corporate behemoth.
December 6th, 2020 at 7:55 PM ^
If Cade is playing, give me the points.
December 6th, 2020 at 7:55 PM ^
30 points that's it? I'm not sure if we'll even score and Don Brown ain't stopping nothin
December 6th, 2020 at 8:07 PM ^
Wait a second, a +30 point spread means they think we will score 70 points!
December 6th, 2020 at 9:27 PM ^
Yeah, I don't see Michigan scoring against OSU"s first stringers.
December 6th, 2020 at 7:58 PM ^
Interesting. What’s the spread for the second half?
December 6th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
That spread is actually per quarter
December 6th, 2020 at 11:40 PM ^
Eh I’m still not entirely comfortable betting on Michigan... need sometime to think
December 6th, 2020 at 7:59 PM ^
That's it?
December 6th, 2020 at 7:59 PM ^
Locker room material. Exactly the type of motivation this team needs.
December 6th, 2020 at 11:29 PM ^
Being about even money with a previously winless team wasn't enough to motivate them, I guess
December 7th, 2020 at 12:22 AM ^
....at home no less.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:47 AM ^
Finally, something to motivate Michigan to beat Ohio State! If only Michigan had reason to want to win in previous years...
December 6th, 2020 at 7:59 PM ^
Are they giving odds of the game even happening?
December 6th, 2020 at 8:00 PM ^
Why do I get the feeling this game is going to be played?
December 6th, 2020 at 8:01 PM ^
Yeah let’s just go ahead and not play this game
December 7th, 2020 at 12:48 AM ^
The game must be played, it’s tradition! I also need them to play it so a.) Warde can get flamed so bad by the media after extending Harbaugh or b.) Warde fires Harbaugh because you can’t possibly extend the reign of this tire fire.
