Official EA Sports NCAA Football 2010 Thread

So who all picked the game up at midnight last night? Thoughts? Hints? Suggestions? I pre-ordered and was set to pick mine up but had an early call-in for work and didn't want to risk oversleeping because of 3 am gaming. Interested to hear what people think of the offense as played out and if Tate is really an 83/85 position rank. Can he gallop? Etc. Basically looking to hear more while I cannot play and maybe some people can throw around their gamertags for some MGoTournaments or whatever.

My first post whooo!! I just opened an account so I could get my user name in the discussion for an online dynasty. I play on the ps3 and usually on Heisman I had a dynasty last year with one other person but I want to get into a bigger one. My user name on ps3 network is BallZDeeP210 and I don't really care if I'm Michigan either. I can be North Carolina, UCLA, Auburn, or anyone else.

zinzarin on PS3 (same username as here) I've been playing on All-American, but am trying to upgrade my skills with this version so I can play on Heisman. My second team in Georgia, so I'd love to play them in the dynasty; I don't need to be Michigan. I think whoever starts the dynasty should get that honor. I also want to wait until the rosters are out. Send me an invite when you're ready!

I played one game with Michigan, Tate is definitely adequate at the position...honestly Michigan is rated higher than they should be..I think 89 overall. State is rated as the worst team in the big ten lmao..haha

I found a roster fix/update: Follow the steps below to get the file: - On the main menu, go to ONLINE - Select EA LOCKER - Pick DOWNLOAD ROSTER - Select ENTER ONLINE ID and type in the correct ID: PS3: eascncaa10 360: EASCNCAA10 Anyone have a good place to find named rosters?

In EA's rush to pimp Erin Andrews and add other superfluous stuff have they fixed some of the maddening stuff from last year on the gameplay front? Like, can Michigan actually run the Zone Read and leave the backside DE unblocked or is that play still a wash? Are there formation substitutes or do you still have to do that through the wonky depth chart? These are the things that are making me nervous about actually picking it up.

Well, midway through my first season on Heisman, I've got three guys from the O-Line (Schilling, Molk, and Huyge) sidelined with injuries. Tate Forcier has a 2:3 TD:INT ratio, Brandon Minor's over 1,200 yards and Odoms is over 800 receiving, and I managed to beat little brother and Iowa while losing to Indiana. So I'm thinking maybe this is the most verisimilar game in the history of eveyrthing?

I play the game on All-American, and have always played the game on All-American. Every time I try it on Heisman difficulty, the scales are tipped wayyyy against me. On All-American, the scales are just slightly in my favor. Any advice on how to get better at the harder difficulty? What skills do I need to develop to compete on Heisman and have it feel like a fair, but competitive matchup?

I would buy one if it weren't for my career and social life. Not poking fun at any of you, but I know that if I had this game, I would probably dedicate my life towards building a Michigan dynasty. I would never leave my home and probably gain 100 lbs.... Have fun though guys....make sure you make Denard a little faster, he should be at least a 94

Good Point....it's especially annoying when you are playing against somebody who has an annoyingly fast QB.....no matter how good your D is, 3rd downs are always converted on a QB sneak with a fast QB

In the first game I played, Tate got hurt for 9 weeks with a broken jaw. I'm praying this doesn't actually happen. The good news was that Denard played well and won me the game with a 50 yard rush on an option keeper.

Got it at midnight, just strolled into my local Wal-Mart and they had a massive box in the back. First game I played was OSU @ Michigan ... Tate played well (something like 15-20 with 200 yards and 2 TDs) but the defense fell apart in a 36-27 loss. Brandon Graham managed to pull off my first ever video game block of a CPU kick and had a few sacks. I'm waiting for the named rosters to come out before I start my actual dynasty, but I do hope it's harder than 09. The Maize and Blue machine that I built last year won like four straight national titles.

I can't be the only one who found rousing success with Carlos Brown at QB in last year's edition. Are the two freshmen good enough to play a competitive game with friends, or should I get ready to put Carlos under center?

I wouldn't call it a douche move, but then again, I did the same thing: Carlos Brown, two-time Heisman winning quarterback. I created Kevin Newsome as a prospect and he led Michigan to three more NC's after Brown's departure. I might have jumped the gun on that one.

Carlos Brown was amazing for me. One time in an online game Carlos Brown made the other guy furious. I lined Brown up at qb, rb, and slot depending on the situation. This is the only time that I have ever had a player catch, throw, and run for a TD in the same game. If only the real Carlos had been that effective...

HB #23 received every snap I had unless I absolutely had to pass. Slant 18 with trips to the narrow side of the field. Zone coverage, flip the run direction to the strong side. Man, simply run to the weak side. touchdown or 20+ yard gain nearly every time, it was absurd. He just burns the safety to the corner every time due to EA's weak pursuit AI in 2k9. The new pursuit AI seems to have solved this problem.

1) I call him HB #23 because I enjoy doing so. That's who the character is in my game, and that is what he shall be called. 2) It's my way of poking fun at the lawsuit over player likenesses in NCAA. 3) If you truly think I don't know who Carlos Brown is... well, I don't even know how to respond to that. The idea is incredulous. Failed attempt at calling me out on failing? Good job on that. ps: == is for equality testing, not assignment. edit: also, that was not my -1 for your post. that'd be hypocritical of me

I refuse to pay for this bland EA crap. Gotta love when the game has major bugs on release day and you already have to DL a patch. They just add crap that was in the previous gen games and call it new. The game play still has the same issues and I am done with the series until they give it a major overhaul. My 09 version is the same damn thing. Also no formation substitutes, freaking uncalled for. I wish 2K could get their hands on the NCAA licence.

Went out and bought it this morning. I'd still be playing if my 8 wk old didn't wake up... Tate threw 4 INTs against ND last game (ouch), but Minor came through with a 100+ yd game to seal the victory. Xbox live: Mr Maize
