Good for him. Has a good relationship (I assume) with Biff and going to join a couple other UM defenders (Okie and Juice).
Biff could end up with a pretty stout defense.
Former Analyst Ryan Osborn is their DC as well.
2 more commits for Michigan today, boat is filling up!

Cheers
Damn. I never thought I'd have to worry about Biff tampering with our players.
/s (just in case)
Biff is going to known at Schembechler Hall as Biff Poach-gi.
Needs to make like a tree and get out of here
+1 for 'Back To The Future' Biff reference.
I presume you're being sarcastic. Biff is certainly in a position to get a legitimate crack at our players after they've settled to the portal level, but Coach Poggi isn't snatching up the prime cuts. Good for him and his Charlotte program, though. They are a trusted landing spot and i'll be rooting for them.
it's actually a good thing. funneling our players that are good players but on the verge of losing playing time, not having to worry about them going in conference, yet they go to someone they know and can trust, and get to start
Charlotte AA
UM AAA
Ravens MAJOR LEAGUE
Coaches and players can move or down depending on what they/the coaches decide what to do.

I have a feeling that Harbaugh is actually on board with this with Poggi. Harbaugh has always been about the best interests of players and assistants. I would imagine they spoke about this and Harbaugh knowing the depth he had didn't oppose it.
Good luck!
This is great! I hope some of Charlotte's games are televised in the coming years!

Edited. Sarcasm is lost on this board.

Lord, why are there fans that never take the high road and feel the need to bash on 18-22 year olds? The kid wants to play. He helped put Michigan back on the map. Not to mention, the dark reminder that asides the last two phenomenal years, Michigan Football was in BPONE and awful majority of that time. Now, some fans want have this arrogance about UM. NHG didn’t do Michigan dirty. The kid helped out and did his part the best he could with injuries. Wish him the best and move on.
Well said, +1.
Good lord, there are fans that take everything so seriously. The comment was in jest ffs. I love the kid and wish him well.
Idiot.
He wants to play and unfortunately an injury basically stole a year from him. He was a great teammate and there's a bunch of competition in the LB room and younger guys pushing for playing time. Young man is doing what's best for him.
Hope he has an amazing year or 2 and we see him fully healthy and working his way towards a career in the NFL.
It was sarcasm. Idiot.
What a not funny, POS, post. Mr. Maize and Luke.
Followed up by a POS reply. It was sarcasm.
Take your lumps, and move on. I'll never understand why people hang on, and continue to make it worse. The sun also rises.
If it was meant to be sarcasm, you apparently failed. But the fact that you deleted the entire comment, and keep replying to others like this, tells me it wasn't sarcasm and that you're just being a jerk.
When sarcasm works it doesn't need the /s. If you use it anyway, for good or bad sarcasm, people let it slide. If it's just a stoopid comment, without or without /s, you get called on it. You, sir, are getting called out loudly. My suggestion - let it ride and stop replying altogether.

<insert "that's a bingo" gif>
Seriously over the years i've learned, the hard way, that unless sarcasm is REALLY clear it frequently gets misunderstood because a key element in identifying sarcasm is missing. The tone of your voice instantly tells someone you're being sarcastic but on line that nuance is gone so the reader is left with just your written words to evaluate.
And yes, once you've stepped in it the best course of action is to simply acknowledge that what you typed didnt come as clearly as you hoped and move on. Defending the post NEVER, EVER works as Maize & Luke is learning right now.

Im a bit surprised he didnt stick it out for this season as more of a rotational player for what could be a really special season. He has multiple years of eligibility and I don't think Charlotte was going anywhere.
But i digress, best of luck NHG.
April 24th, 2023 at 10:12 PM ^
He basically did that last year...the kid wants to play. They're going to dominate at Charlotte, which was already my adopted mid-major program that I liked to follow the past 4-5 years. Can't wait to check them out this season.
A lot of their games are on CBS College Sports.
Reading the tea leaves here, I think this says the depth chart was not favorable to him getting a rotational share of the snaps.

I've always heard the 49ers have deep pockets.
April 24th, 2023 at 10:16 PM ^
We should hire this Biff guy. Seems like a good recruiter.
April 24th, 2023 at 10:17 PM ^
He asked Charlotte to marry him. She said yes! Congrats, NHG! Next order of business--finding a school to transfer to.
April 24th, 2023 at 10:21 PM ^
So is Charlotte the new Michigan of the East or does that still belong to Harvard?
April 24th, 2023 at 10:22 PM ^
Maybe lost his job to Hausman?
April 24th, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
This is by far the most plausible...because if he were the starter here he wouldn't leave.
That would imply Hill-Green was a starter to begin with, which he’s not. He was entering last season, but after missing the whole year he fell clearly behind Colson and Barrett. He was fighting Rolder and Hausmann for rotational snaps. Falling behind Hausmann means he was 4th on the depth chart, or 5th depending on where Rolder falls.
Yeah, Barrett's steady improvement through the season was outstanding, and NHG clearly fell behind - because he had to since he wasn't playing at all. It's similar to what I've always thought afflicted Dylan McCaffrey after he was head-hunted in Wisconsin. Dylan was clearly in the midst of taking over from Shea, but his concussion recovery was too slow and caused him to get so far behind he couldn't catch up. I think that happened to NHG. I wish him the best of luck at Charlotte.
Okie would have been a starter.

I find it hard to believe Hausman who wasn’t a great player as a freshman has locked down a starting spot on at a new program already
edit. jesus christ, some of you people are insufferable
April 24th, 2023 at 11:24 PM ^
Yeah he has. The minute he showed up he was the second best LB on the team
April 24th, 2023 at 11:29 PM ^
Yes how the hell does a 18 year old freshman LB starting on a P5 team BUT DID NOT dominate the conference shown. You've nailed it.
What's next? UM could not match Charlotte's NIL??
Huh? Hill-Green didn't have a starting spot.
Colson and Barrett are the starters.
But Hill-Green didn't have to lock down a starting spot to lose his spot to Hausmann (who was absolutely coming on late in the spring).
He likely left because 1. he didn't beat out Colson or Barrett for a starting job.
And/or 2. Because Hausmann and/or Rolder were taking 2nd unit snaps from him.
Both are very plausible. Obvious. And it happens.
Just like Moton didn't beat out Moore and Paige.
Just like Henning was losing snaps to Tyler Morris and Donovan Edwards (even though Henning was still leading the way at his position).
it’s really inexplicable. freshman non-starters grow up, develop, and turn into sophomore starters. that never happens! ever!
Nobody said he locked down a starting job. He passed NHG. NHG wasn’t a starter.
*insufferable. Thank you very much.

Did you watch any Nebraska football last season, namely the game on 11/12?
April 24th, 2023 at 11:24 PM ^
Charlotte is going to be loaded. Too bad they couldn't grab McNamara and All.
April 24th, 2023 at 11:31 PM ^
Per the emails, Charlotte reached out.
Too soon?
the same emails Matt Weiss hacked into?
It would've been fun to see our transfers go to a place like Charlotte and build that program together.
Spurlock and Upshaw especially.
Could've had:
- QB: McNamara OR Bowman
- RB: n/a
- WR: Anthony, Henning
- TE: All, Hansen
- OL: n/a
- DL: Welschof, Rooks
- EDGE: Upshaw
- LB: Hill-Green, Spurlock
- DB: Moten
That's a squad.
And if they promise to portal back to Michigan, we could send them Tavi Dunlap to get a quick 1,000 yards and Atteberry, Guidice, and Bounds to help anchor their OL for the 2023 season. But they have to come back in December for the national championship run.
That would be an awesome little G-League/AAA Minor League system to get guys reps!
