I wouldnt say that. William Campbell last year was the state's top recruit. I'd have to say that Devin Gardner isnt too shabby this year either. Also if Michigan picks up Dior Mathis and Austin White I'd have to continue to disagree with the comment. Is MSU improving on the state? Yes. I think that's more of a product ofRich Rodriguez building out of state pipelines grabbng JT Turner out of OH and D Robinson, Marvin Robinson in FL.

Caught my eye as well. It's not a bad school, but I guess my definitions of "top", "academic", and "programs" are different than Mr. Hill.
Ah well, wish the kid the best of luck. He sounds like a good player, and I don't blame him for not wanting to wait for more offers when he found a school he was comfortable with.
Overall, I wouldn't say MSU has a "top academic program", although I will say that they have some good programs. I'm familiar with their vet and farming programs, but other than that I don't hear anything from other people and I don't care enough to look into it.
as of a few years ago their education program was the best in the country hands down. Also joseph Lulloph is one of the best saxophone teachers in the country. Their wind ensemble is very good also. I would say all around a very good music program. I applied to MSU but wasnt good enough academically to get in. oh well, im very happy at calvin college.

that is false my friend. By far and way Eugene Russau is the not only the best teach but probably in the top ten for best players in the world. He teaches at Minnesota university. He formally taught at Indiana University Jacobs school of music back in its hay day of being considered the best music school in the world, yes, even better than Julliard. Not only has he performed many concertos with some of the worlds most renown orchestras and bands he also assisted in founding the World Saxophone Congress. Michigan at one point did have the best saxophone teacher in Larry Teal but he is long gone and the saxophone studio at UM hasnt been as dominant since, though without a doubt it is a fine saxophone studio.

MSU is building the biggest nuclear research facility in the country. The Kinesiology program has helped many people I know, stop the bashing.

Not to call you out in two posts in a row but 'biggest facility' doesn't mean jack if you don't have the faculty to run it. If I wanted to work on nuclear research I would rather work in a closest office at the University of Chicago then a 1/2 acre corner office at MSU just because of the co-workers I would be working with.
But to give credit where it's due, I like how the state and MSU got that facility in East Lansing. It was a great catch.

I think he wanted to wait until after the spring evaluation period's camps to end to see if he was going to receive any new offers before making a commitment. ND was supposed to be interested but that does not appear to be the case any longer, or at least not presently.

That Dantonio quote is a bit absurd, since it was:
A) An MSU player who mocked UofM with the little brother phrase before UofM won and Hart retaliated with it back after the victory.
B) Dantonio takes little jabs when he has the chance and is the only college coach that I have ever known to talk smack to an opposing player.

It is my educated guess that UM coaches did not offer Hill for a reason. That is not a knock on Hill, I take it he was just not a good fit for our team and/or the coaches have good reason to believe they will get someone who is a better fit.
Coming from another vertically challenged athlete, I wish Hill a good career at MSU.
He seems like a good RB.
Anyways, I am excited about the RB's that we do have. I think we will have the best RBs in the conference this year.

No that's not what I'm saying. Of course there are limits. If we just gave scholarships to people who loved Michigan, most of the guys on this blog would have one. In my mind there isn't that much of a difference between Austin White and Nick Hill. Sorry that I didn't say that originally. Referencing your example the dropoff from Tate to a bag of balls to Nick Sheridan is so great that at that point love for Michigan doesn't matter.
edit- and Tate obviously loves Michigan. If Sheridan loved it so much he wouldn't have played so bad last year (JOKE)
