As usual, nice to see franzen out on the PP coughing up the puck. I'm always amazed at Pavel's dsicions on pps though, seems so calm on the side boards where other players play too quick.

that too many men i'm pretty sure is on franzen who couldn't catch up after giving up the puck. backcecking on the 2 on 2 he trails off to the bench but didn't get off like he should of and zetty jumped out assuming he would get off and then hopefully go take a seat in the lockerroom
what in the HELL was he thinking attempting a high cross ice pass with an empty net, he is completely worthless. probably get the game tying goal if we get one...
What would have been the penalty? He had the puck, so it couldn't be interference.

trade Franzen for just about anything. He is just a not the type of player you can count on.
I feel like I've said this the last few years, but this offseason should be a big one.
At this point, I would use our buyout on Franzen. Give a goodbye to Samuelsson, Bertuzzi, Cleary. I wouldn't think we resign Legwand or Quincey either
So assuming Alfredsson retires/finds greener pastures, and with the players currently on the Wings roster, I figure out lines are something like this:
Zetterberg - Dats - Abby
Tatar - Weiss - Nyquist
LW - Sheahan - Jurco
Miller - Glendening - Helm
Kronwall - Ericsson
Smith - DeKeyser
Kindl/Lashoff - Ouellet
Gotta find a 3rd line winger, maybe one of the Griffins? Give Frk/Callahan minutes up there? Dunno if Helm can be a good on the wing either, but that's a good checking line. Probably try to deal Kindl too if possible, get Sproul up here sooner than later
I would assume with the Weiss situation being a relative unknown it might be wise to bring Legwand back, i'm not sure what the price would be but I think it might be worth a look.

I've been wishing for a right handed power forward since Shanny left so I may be a little biased.
I hope Kenny Holland can get some tips from Dombrowski on how to trade overpaid worthless players. I would love nothing more than to see Franzen not on the Wings roster next season. Please sign a top four D and a top 6 winger.
When the 4th liners are producing more than your star players something needs to change.
Franzen, alfredson, Legwand, cleary, bertuzzi, Quincy.
Other players who I wouldn't mind being traded:
Helm- Probably to the second most overrated player on the team. Everyone gets wet talking about his speed but he simply can't finish on those breakaways. He has no offensive game and gets lost on the PK unit.
Abdelkater- Another Franzen type player who seems to show up and then disappears. Provides little on offense and quick frankly is soft.
