Not sure if this has been covered yet.

is amazingly helpful and replete with content.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:22 PM ^
Not only is there no information in the OP itself but the link does not provide any information other than the fact that a LB from Mississippi may be visiting. Who is the kid? I'm more in the dark now than ever.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
I'm more in the dark now than ever.
Is a dark room even darker once you know there's a light switch but can't find it?
November 17th, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
That, and add to the scenario the fact that I'm blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back.
November 17th, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
blinded by the light, racked up like a douche, the roamer in the night.
Or something.

or "revved up like a deuce"

or "revved up like a deuce"
I almost spit up my spit up my lunch from laughing so hard
November 17th, 2010 at 5:06 PM ^
In the Springsteen original, it's "Cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night" (a deuce being a 1932 Ford coupe).
It's one of the classic misheard lyrics. Wikipedia tells me Springsteen has joked about it, saying that it was not until Mann rewrote the song to be about a "feminine hygiene product" that it became popular.

I happen to be an LB from Mississippi, and I will be in The Big House on Saturday.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:42 PM ^
and you are?
November 17th, 2010 at 12:59 PM ^
and slow.
November 17th, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
where does it say Mississippi?
November 17th, 2010 at 2:20 PM ^
Lets not get in to that whole thing. That, however, doesn't change the fact that I was born in Mississippi.
November 17th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
I think maybe cypress was hired by scout or rivals to get us to purchase insider membership, but cool. I guess we have to be content with "mystery white linebacker visiting"???? or "he is white so he must be a OLB version of Desmond Morgan. LOL
November 17th, 2010 at 12:21 PM ^
Can someone fill in the giant chasm of a blank as to who this is? He's not showing up on any prospect sheet i've seen.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:21 PM ^
Is True Sleeper the new lexicon for 'Must pass Admissions'?
November 17th, 2010 at 2:04 PM ^
"From Mississippi" is the new lexicon for "Must Pass Admissions".
Zing!
November 17th, 2010 at 2:25 PM ^
I was bumped up a grade. Have you been reading/watching/listening to the MSM again? By the way, coaches from WV are okay, too, despite the accent.

I was planning on giving an extra ticket to my oldest son' so he could take his new girlfriend to the game with us. Naturally I assumed the OP was referring to her.
Man was I wrong or what!
November 17th, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
My first thought after reading the title was that the OP was asking if he/she could come stay with me for the weekend. I thought it was extremely forward and presumptuous to ask such a thing!
November 17th, 2010 at 12:22 PM ^
is his name? Anyone? Bueller?
November 17th, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
Bueller? Bueller?
November 17th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
on the double post... you were so confused by the OP's informative thread.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
Would Tom even know who he is?
November 17th, 2010 at 12:28 PM ^
I have no idea who it is, thats why I asked if it had been covered on here.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
At least you know that you don't know. That's much better than not knowing that you don't know . . .
November 17th, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
Or not knowing what you do know...
November 17th, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
now we all know that he knows that he doesn't know.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:33 PM ^
I thought Brett Favre's eligibility would be gone by now.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:40 PM ^
If the photo could be identified, it would count, I think, as "information in header" and be legitimate fodder for discussion. TomVH?

You just made me spit my drink out!!
November 17th, 2010 at 12:42 PM ^
The Dawson's Creek jokes would get the board through the long offseason
November 17th, 2010 at 12:43 PM ^
After some random searching. I think the high school is Winter Springs, they have a DB on their roster with the name A.J. Mathews but can't find shit on him as far as recruiting goes. The orlando sports central commented on him in an article recap for a game but thats about it.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:47 PM ^
Googling Ocean Springs Football comes up with Dawson Wells as a #8.
Also not sure what the WS means.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
all over both Scout and Rivals to find an OLB with "Springs" as part of a school name. No luck..... I am no Nancy Drew :(
November 17th, 2010 at 12:47 PM ^
His name is Ryan Petro. He is an OLB out of the Orlando area. No offers from anybody as of yet, but Nebraska, Pitt,Rutgers, and Michigan have recently found him and are keeping in touch. He is a OLB version of Desmond Morgan.
November 17th, 2010 at 12:55 PM ^
Winter Springs, Florida:

Not sure how one of the Orlando Sentinel's top ten defensive ends in central Florida counts as a "sleeper."
November 17th, 2010 at 3:58 PM ^
Do wrestlers qualify as better-than-average tacklers on day 1? This is probably not a bad thing for the school that gets him.
November 17th, 2010 at 4:19 PM ^
Not really sure that being a wrestler automatically makes one a better tackler, but many football coaches do like their players to wrestle in the winter.
November 17th, 2010 at 4:31 PM ^
I'm not sure exactly how much correlation there is, but some of our best football players have been wrestlers. We have an all-region middle linebacker who doubles as a wrestler in the winter. We put another wrestler at defensive end on passing situations, and he's had 3 sacks (and several more hurries) in his limited time.
They learn such good balance, footwork, and reflexes in wrestling that it helps them out a great deal in football.
In addition, I mentioned on my blog that one of our players was nearly paralyzed in a game earlier this year. His dad and the doctor attributed the strength of his neck muscles (due to wrestling) to preventing him from paralysis.
I don't enjoy watching wrestling, but it's certainly helpful for young football players.
November 17th, 2010 at 4:34 PM ^
Damn, I wonder why Bo didn't get the Steiners in there. They would have body slam some QB's, Fairley style.
November 17th, 2010 at 1:06 PM ^
Jesus he looks like the long lost brother of Jordan Kovacs and Ray Vinopal
November 17th, 2010 at 1:10 PM ^
So gritty.
November 17th, 2010 at 1:25 PM ^
Except he's got really muscular forearms.
Uh-oh. I think I might be gay.
November 17th, 2010 at 3:21 PM ^
I feel like we are a potential breeding grounds for this player. I say we refer to them as Radon Vinovacs...sounds naaaaasty
