New banner at Crisler Center recognizing vacated Final Fours, B1G Tourney title
Saw THIS on the UMichWBBall instagram and it caught my eye.
At Crisler Center in the PDC portion of the building above the practice courts are three large banners. One lists B1G Championship years (White) and B1G Tournament Championship years (Maize).
The Middle lists NCAA Tournament years.
The far right lists Final Four years.
Take a look at them. The 1998 B1G Tournament Championship is listed, all vacated tournament appearances (1992, 1993, 1996 & 1998) are listed. And the 1992 and 1993 Final Four years are listed.
These are new banners because the old ones that were put in when the PDC opened on the wall are still up but those don’t list them. I’m guessing the old ones are gonna be taken down?
If you look in this photo you can see the old one up top right on the wall there. There also are some Final Four logos that weren’t there in the past either. Wonder if all of them including 92 and 93 are there?

And this is NOT a knock on Juwan Howard as a coach in ANY way... but looking at all those years b/t 2007 - 2019 just makes me have to say it again... thank you, Beilein! Would be so much more depressing without all that added.

I think Michigan should just hang the banners with no fanfare after the season. Just hang them. When asked just say,"It was time." Then move on. Don't announce that you are thinking about doing it, having talks about it, just hang them.
