Agreed, they'll have to run two-back sets (which I'm not opposed to, but isn't what we've been into lately) if they want to have Edwards in there reliably.

Motioning him in and out of the slot to see the defenses would be a great idea too, but not sure we're at that level of complexity.

Also, if it weren't for the 9/11-planestrike-level-video-replay-brainwashing of Edward's 2 TD Homeruns against OSU all year long, people would not assume Edwards was some sort of trucking RB.

He has always relied on getting away clean and fast. He's an elusive back, not a bulldozer.

Remember Corum & Edwards dubbed themselves "Lightning & Lightining", not "Thunder & Thunder".

That being said, I love what I'm seeing from Mullings. Love to see more.

The OSU TDs weren't of the "trucking" variety either

That's exactly my point, you show something over and over for long enough, again and again and again, and people will start to attribute qualities to something that never were there before in the first place.

It's why eye-witness testimony is notorious less and less reliable the more the person is interrogated.

Which kind of calls into question all 24-7 debate, dialogue, hardcore-politics-newscycle, and sportstalk, etc. via the internet as an inescapable self-straying from reality through re/mis-remembering ("Tower of Babel"--and many, many other mythopoetics touch on similar conundrums/fatal-flaws), but alas, the people must poast!!

If Edwards can't run between the tackles then he's just a slightly better version of A.J. Henning. What makes a back like him so dangerous is that he can do all the receiving stuff in addition to being a regular running back. When he does it all the defense can't match up personnel-wise. Whatever they do is wrong. If we limit his role to the things you propose, you just stick a nickel or safety on him.

We know he can run between the tackles. He did it late last year. He needs to be that back again. In his defense, I do think he made some improvements in this game, where he just took the 4-5 years the defense gave him instead of overreaching for the big play.

This game reminded me a lot of the Iowa game last year. I know Iowa’s D was way better last year than Nebraska’s D but a lot of what we heard leading into this game is can Michigan do anything against their first road test against a good defense. They did it last year and they most definitely did it this year. Let’s keep this momentum rolling next week. Go Blue!

IMPRESSIVE!! They beat my expectations. JJ made some great plays. Roman has risen to a new level. How about Kalil Mullings! What a tank!

They ran for 249 yds; so much for Neb 42 ypg ave against the rush.

Even the back ups looked very good, scoring more points.

I gave them an A+; the train is rolling now.

I want to see more targets to Wilson.  The guy is electric.  That being said, it's nice seeing the other WRs step up as well.  And, Edwards wasn't even targeted..

Mullings!
