Second time I've read about this. Must be a little truth to it. Their brand hasn't benefited at all but you'd think they'd enjoy the money and academic benefits in the Big Ten.

Apparently his credibility was already quite low. The responses may have been unanimous. Many have pointed out the absurdity of Nebraska joining when Oklahoma is leaving.

Frank the Tank has been a good follow for expansion news. He was reliable in the last round of moves.

Absolute complete BS. Big 12 cannot poach ANY P5 league, much less richer and academically superior Big Ten. Big 12 options are G5 schools.

exactly.  if they cared about academics this issue would never come up. so many beneits of collaborative research projects across the conference.  this is why ND's refusal to join way back when pissed off the faculty. it shows both schools' values - football is more important to them than the quality of their academics.

I think Nebraska has been a decent addition. I like that it is geographically contiguous with the rest of the B1G. But if we're doing this again, I'm gonna need Nebraska to go ahead and take Rutgers with them.

B1G West

  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Minnesota
  • Northwestern
  • Purdue
  • Wisconsin

B1G East

  • Michigan
  • Michigan State
  • Ohio State
  • Penn State
  • Maryland
  • Indiana

That suits me fine.

and Purdue to the East, with a protected crossover rivalry game like before.  Balances the power a bit.  If you take Nebraska out of the West, you make it an even worse division than it already is. And if you take Rutgers out of the East, it gets even tougher, top to bottom which would put competitive balance even more out of whack.

Assuming Oklahoma would look at the SEC before the Big 10 so a trade probably not in the works. Like others suggest above kick Rutgers, penn state and Maryland out and take it back to 10. Rather see that then add a Virginia or something like that.
