NCAA Michigan - Texas Southern Open Thread
Yes, yes they did.
Hey Michigan wins and just to remind you guys Ohio State lost!
Don’t forget the other rival too
Other rival didn't even make the 64.
Pretty sure the refs took the 25 point spread for $1000 or so.
I did not care one bit for that part where they could have gotten it to single digits.
Let me just say this: most #1 seeds do not get this type of whistle happy officiating that rewarded helter-skelter style of play. There were a bunch of BS calls mixed with a ton of no calls on TSU. Virtually unwatchable.
Survive and advance.
Glad it wasn't just me. Was worried I was getting pissed for no reason.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see dick pitino on the sidelines.
Add that to the women’s weight room fiasco ....just a piece of shit corrupt organization
good job ncaa
No complaints with today - after watching Ohio and Purdue, I'm glad where we are.
The book on us is to double, even triple, Dickinson and take your chances with him missing open passes or shooters missing open shots.
We have some work to do there.
Wally Szczerbiak and Clark Kellogg are haters
What did they say?
I’d love to see a clip of Kellogg after OSU fucked the pooch. Have to look for that.
I felt like Clark was ok. Wally, much like these NBA people they get, is just focused on Livers absence. That’s all he’s talked about.
I don't care, as long as Michigan wins.
One thing I am gonna say about the game other than the biased officiating was that when we were up I think 24 at the under 16 timeout that would have been a great time to substitute. Instead we kept starters in there for about 9 straight minutes of game time and that’s when they were getting rebounds and made it a game. I think we need to play the bench more in games like this.
I saw a little more bench during the game. My take is the starters needed extra minutes so as to sharpen up. They had the 6 day lay off until today's game. I had no issue with the starter's minutes of play. The good news is, nobody got hurt today. All are healthy going into Monday.
Just my opinion, don't think LSU will not get away with what TSU got away with today on HD. HD will hit his free throws. Franz should shoot a bit more. Win one game at a time and see where it ends.
Oh good God, are we back to complaints about "biased" officials? Yes, they missed some calls. But I think Dickinson's elbow *was* flagrant, and in any event, it's just boring to complain about it all the damned time. You think Texas Southern has a lot of sympathy for us right now? Michigan completely lost focus in the second half, and that was some sloppy, sloppy basketball. Got to get it together for the next game. Cmon, Blue!
Calm down. It's just an opinion. HD's last foul was a foul. Maybe a flagrant. He was fouled a lot before that and robbed on 2 or 3 earlier plays. I don't think things will be called same way vs. LSU. That's just my opinion. Could be wrong like anyone else including you so Good God yourself.
No... the constant bitching about refs by this toxic parts of this fanbase is fucking insufferable.
You would shut down the Blog if no officiating complaints were allowed.
Our guys did lose some focus during the second half, especially after being up by 24. It cold have been worse. They certainly can't play like that against LSU on Monday.
I don’t understand how we watched the same game if you think that was evenly officiated? They were clutching, grabbing and hacking across the arms all game long. Several of our lost balls were from rakes across the forearms and slaps to the elbows as we drove past them. Down low, they were shoving and swiping across the back of our players heads as they went up to score. We lost focus some in the second half and should’ve had the bench in there much earlier for rest and hustle purposes but the refs absolutely dictated style of play in the second half. They also got bailed out every time they drove to the basket and were hitting their free throws. If they allow LSU to play like that, they’ll win by 15+.
Visually, Texas Southern had no game from the 3-point line. They drove and did a lot of inside stuff.
Onward! Go Blue!
Wagner had a good game. More to a team game like basketball than individual scoring. Wagner had 9 points, 9 REBOUNDS and 6 ASSISTS.
Wagner is the only player on the team with the complete skill-set, and that's what UM needs from Wagner. It's why NBA scouts drool all over Wagner. It's why Wagner will be a top-10 lottery pick next NBA draft. I'll take 9/9/6 vs 16/4/2 from Wagner every game.
UM played fairly well today. Will need to play a bit better on Monday to win. Interior D, especially dribble-drives to the hoop, must improve vs LSU, otherwise the game is going to be razor-close.
Michigan played an awesome and strong game.
