My "Cool Story Bro"

Submitted by jinglebaugh on

Mario Ojemudia was staying at my hotel in California this week. I got the opposite of the "Death Stare" when I said "Go Blue!" after recognizing him. He said he was bummed about missing "the best year in my career" due to injury. Hopefully he has a long, successful career in the NFL.

:(

Can't believe he's a graduating senior. I remember going to that big Cass Tech-Harrison game at EMU when it was Royce Jenkins-Stone and Terry Richardson (and future commits Jourdan Lewis, Delano Hill & Dave Dawson) against Funchess and Ojemudia.

how he knew so confidently that he was in the midst of his best season after basically playing just half of the season.

That really says something about this coaching staff, not that we didn't already know it, it's just nice to keep getting affirmation of it.

Good luck Mario, I hope you get a fair shot in the NFL and have a good career!!!

lol I know, I'm never in the right place at the right time to get a "cool story, bro" pic.

I did tutor Courtney Sims and Dion Harris once (which was rare, because it was normally wrestling, water polo or baseball players) when I worked for the athletic dept in undergrad as a tutor. but unfortunately, no pics!

It's refreshing to know that Harbaugh's NFL connections should help Mario get a much better shot at playing in the league that he otherwise may not have had due to his season-ending injury.

That's a good story. I'm sure that Mario will get a shot to work his way on to an NFL roster. He only played half a season, but he has good tape from that time and has talent. If he'd come on the scene and only played the last half of the season, we would expect him to have a good shot at getting looked at by the NFL. I suspect his position isn't too different if he's healthy now.

This would be one of those occasions on the blog where, yes, cool story indeed.

It really was a shame that Mario was injured in what was turning out to be an excellent season for him, and I will be one of the many here looking for him to get some time on the field on Sunday too.
