Correct. He said "book it" it reference to Harbaugh to the Vikings previously. Florio is not a reporter, he "connects dots" and has some contacts in the league. He just piles inference on top of speculation and other people's reporting. He is kind of a hack.

Some of our own insiders said Harbaugh to the Vikings was a done deal. It turned out not to be, but I don't know if that's proof Florio sucks. Harbaugh himself seemed to believe he had that job and discovered during the interview that they hadn't decided.

This is exactly right. Everyone who has put something out there is basically throwing shit against a wall and see what sticks. There are like 5 different reports just today as where JH even is. No one really knows whats going on until Jim makes a decision and signs a contract.

What Florio is saying is pure speculation, but it’s logical. There’s a reason why he didn’t close the deal with LA yesterday or today. Maybe it’s about money or who the GM will be, but it could be he just doesn’t want to leave Michigan. Nobody knows, but he’s right that there’s something keeping the deal from being done. The one thing we know now is that the something keeping him from signing the new contract at Michigan is his interest in the NFL. It’s not money or clauses. If he doesn’t come back, at least we know (or at least I think we know) that our administration did everything they could to keep him.
