NOLA Wolverine

Finally. Maybe we can stop looking like the one highschool team that doesn't fund their football team very much. It'd be nice to have jerseys that actually fit. I can finally change my sig after a good year and change run.

just a more streamlined and different use of fabrics.  Basically they have tightened up the jersey and added compression material in certain spots (like the cross pattern in the back) to aid and enchance muscular performance.  Trying to make parts of the jersey an extention of the muscle group.

They did the same thing with their other football (soccer) jerseys which Chelsea wore last year and some world cup teams this year.  Not sure how successful it was as Chelsea moved away from that design.

I also did some more research and Notre Dame is going to unveil their new ones this weekend.  I e-mailed the PR guy at adidas to see if he had a picture of the away jerseys and if he knew when we would debut them.  My guess is Saturday if ND is.

I think they look a TON better.

I hope they tamper with the away jerseys a little bit. I'd also like to see them add a new color scheme for the pants... blue with wings or something... it's always good to have an alternate set. Keeps it fresh. I wouldn't change our home unis design-wise though, they're perfect. They can tinker with the materials all they want as long as they make them more advanced.

About the Nike equipment, the word on the proverbial street is that high school players really like the ProCombat look (especially the "bubble-padding"). Some Nike schools like Ohio Sh*t have titanium used for their belts which is interesting. Details like that apparently matter.

I know there is a difference between "team issued" gear and the gear available for the public. But I'm kinda disappointed in the "authentic" jerseys for sale at the M Den. It seems like the "authentic" jerseys are kinda cheap, they lack the elastic band in the sleeves, not even close to the cut/style and they don't seam to have the same fabric/weight as the "Team issued" jerseys do. I just think for $150-$180 they would be a little more accurate to be called "authentic." I thought that the Nike authentic jerseys available for the public were a better quality. I hope that they offer the new jerseys to the public and that they are of the same quality as the "team issued."

FWIW, the adidas PR guy I e-mailed did e-mail me back but asked if I was a part of a media outlet and I said yes, MGoBlog.  Then he asked if I ran it...dammit.  I tried.  I did give him Brian's e-mail so maybe he'll send something to Brian.  I asked about the away jerseys and when Michigan would debut them.

I dunno, I don't like how the numbers look like they're wearing corsets, all squinched up and stuff.  (Can I be anymore of a tradition nazi when I don't like how the standard varsity font numbers look on my team's jersey?...I'd rather be that then have to wear anything as ugly as those Spartan jerseys.)

Here's hoping to some cooler away jerseys...

Hadn't noticed that. You're right though, the away jersey will look different. I'll critique it once I see it. On the bright side, i like how the adidas logo seems to be less visible... it isn't featured like on the v-neck jerseys we currently have. Unfortunately, it appears to be bigger now that the jerseys look so small.
