How about that awful 3rd and short call with Gardner that play is on tape and we have run it so many times. And the wheel throw to the RB teams are just waiting for it. He is so predictable. The only positive in this is that he is so bad and scheming against teams that he will be fired at the end of the season.

Exactly why Borges needs to be fired. Completely abandoned what worked on the opening drive. Why did we stop running the ball with the freshman. We were actually blocking well.

I don't think his gameplan is that bad.  We are getting lots of quick passes before the blitz can get home, at least on early downs.  We're not converting enough on the early downs to avoid 3rd downs, though, and the 3rd downs are killing us.

How can Michigan start off so good on offense, only to suck immediately after?

I have not been very satisfied with our 3rd down and short playcalls.

And Devin needs to get his head out of his ass...he should have gotten about 2 or 3 INTs in that half, one pick six. I know his protection sucks, but he's telegraphing his passes and throwing it right into defenders.

The fact that it's a 3 point game is quite frankly remarkable. If Michigan gets its head out of its ass in the 2nd half offensively, they should win. They were moving the ball early...how about you go DO THAT again.

I'm hoping that the BTN announces the firing of our coaching staff at the half.

I don't care if we finish the game. It's just too ugly to watch this exercise in futility..

I think Hoke should go.  The offensive philosophy, if not the actual game planning, comes from him and Borges has his full support.  If Hoke disagrees with him and he hasn't made it clear to change his prep then why not fire Hoke too.  He's as responsible as Borges is.

Hoke's only redeeming quality is his recruiting and that clearly hasn't helped.

I'm curious to see our yards gained on 1st down versus 2nd and 3rd.  We've actually done pretty well on 1st downs, but when we don't convert on that down, that seems to be it for the drive.

is going to have some tough decisions to make in the off season.

i know we all blithely call for Borges firing (myself included), but actually firing someone, particularly someone you know well, is difficult.

we'll see if Hoke has any courage.

Fire Borges? Have you lost your mind? Al Borges is the only reason Michigan has three points right now! The players are simply horrible and need to execute. It is only the play calling guruism of Borges that has allowed Michigan to score! Borges should be given a lifetime contract clearly.

I wonder how many times we've gotten the ball in the opponents territory this year and came away with nothing. Maybe LSA can put that together.

It would have to be some sort of Big Ten record.

Well, good news:

 - Postive rushing yards, 40 yards on 16 carries. Not good, but better than the last two weeks

 - 120 yards on 28 plays. Mind you, 4.3 yards per snap isn't great, but it is about 50% better than the last two weeks.

Not so good:

- Third down conversions: 0 for 5

- Why did we abandon things that seemed to be working?

How many times have we talked about not giving up points before the half?  The defense had a great play on 3rd down, but sheesh...every game we do this.
