February 12th, 2011 at 5:48 PM ^
Is really starting to mature. It would be nice to seem them go to the dance, just to see how much they can learn from the experience.
February 12th, 2011 at 5:53 PM ^
Not this again..
February 12th, 2011 at 5:54 PM ^
To get there IMO they're going to need to beat Iowa & MSU and at least one of the three tough games remaining: Illinois, Wisconsin & Minnesota. That'll put them at 19-12 going into the tourney. Win one and then out and they're 20-13 and a definite maybe. Win two and then I think we're in.
Of course I'm assuming we dont throw this one away......

Hardaway and Morris are going to be quite the dynamic tandem as they progress through their collegiate careers.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:05 PM ^
Needs to practice their FTs.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:10 PM ^
Why do the last two games make me think our practice sets for the end of games is to throw our arms into the air and run around wildly screaming at the top of their lungs? It's unreal how good we can play in one stretch only to be followed by periods of unbelievable futility and what looks suspiciously like panic.
We definitely go out of our way to let teams back into games they have NO business being in.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:10 PM ^
Come on!
February 12th, 2011 at 6:11 PM ^
Can we a close a game?!!?
February 12th, 2011 at 6:11 PM ^
Gaaaaah, free throws! I'm going to have a goddamn heart attack.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:11 PM ^
Will someone make a F*ing free throw!!!
February 12th, 2011 at 6:11 PM ^
For being a team that focuses on shooting beyond the arc, how can we be such a poor free throw shooting team?
February 12th, 2011 at 6:12 PM ^
I'm losing it right now..
February 12th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
Horrible
February 12th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
This team has no shot at making the tournament.. Next year maybe, but still so young and inexperienced.. no way in hell Indiana should be within one posession in this game. We were up by 22..
February 12th, 2011 at 6:19 PM ^
have "a shot." Making it past the first round, not so much.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:14 PM ^
Make the god damn free throws.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
My wife came downstairs to watch the game when we were up 22. I have sent her back upstairs.
I'm sorry guys...this one's on me/
February 12th, 2011 at 6:23 PM ^
The only way a wife can't jinx a sporting event upon entering a room is if she is providing a sandwich.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:33 PM ^
Well at last the question has been answered. My wife is not the only one to jinx a team.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:25 PM ^
I have been sitting here wondering what I did to blow that lead. Its good to learn that it wasn't me. That game sucked but a win is a win nonetheless. GO BLUE!!!
February 12th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
Time for a 5 sec violation and a 4pt play.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
Good win. Getting closer to the tourney..
February 12th, 2011 at 6:27 PM ^
That was not a good win at all... Indiana finished the game on something like a 25-5 run... that is completely unacceptable. Its not like we had our B-squad out there either. It was our complete lack of discipline on D and utter inability to hit a free throw that doomed us. Part of me wishes we didnt win because frankly, we really didnt deserve the W. I know this team is young but this was a disaster and I am fuming at how weve been playing at the end of games during the past two weeks.
February 12th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
Usually, I don't call it a "disaster" when we win games, but maybe I'm in the minority. We don't usually shoot FTs like that, so it's not something to get too worked up about.. They have to do better on D late, but you take a win and move on.
None of me wishes we didn't win, because I'm not a moron.
February 12th, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
always better to learn after a win than after a loss. I would bet the locker room was fairly subdued after the game.
February 13th, 2011 at 12:54 AM ^
We kicked Indiana's ass up and down the floor for 35min. In the last 5 we stopped playing our style and let them come back. No one watching today can say we didn't deserve it.
February 13th, 2011 at 1:58 AM ^
While I agree with everything you said and I don't think we "deserved to lose," the fact that we stopped playing our style in the last five minutes is a big indictment on Beilein, even with the ridiculous lack of focus our players had at the stripe. How the hell do we not get ONE field goal against their full-court press?
I've seen Beilein stop running his offense early before to protect leads. It doesn't end up pretty.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:23 PM ^
But no way you leave a game like this feeling good about yourselves.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:24 PM ^
Well, hopefully the team starts to realize that no lead is a comfortable one. And to make your god damn free throws.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:25 PM ^
A lot to clean up on the press break. You can bet when it is worked on in practice, the coaches will have their full attention. Good win and too many valuable learning experiences to count in that last 10 minutes.
3-2 from here gets them to .500 and into the tournament IMO. With Wisconsin, Michigan State at home and 3 road games they will definitely have to earn it.
February 12th, 2011 at 6:29 PM ^
IMO its going to take us more than 3-2 to go dancing... Maybe 3-2 with a deep run in the Big Ten Tourny does the trick but Id be much more comfortable with a 4-1 finish and a win or two in the Big Ten Tourny to get us to the ball.
