Lot of young talent. Glen Mason sucks balls.  6 freshman playing special teams, can't wait to see all the bitching about burning redshirts.  Morris looked solid.  Looking forward to the first clown who suggests he redshirt NEXT year!!  O Line was solid, backs played well.  Lot of things coaches can use as teaching moments.

I'm not a redshirt hoarder any longer.  I think it helps recruiting to show that the coaches are willing to play the best players regardless of whether the team burns a redshirt or not.  The only kids who should redshirt are the players who are not physically or mentally ready to play.  The best players should be on the depth chart.

On who you are recruiting, and what position the freshmen play. Burning OL redshirts is a no-no, but at LB where we have, and look to continue having, an annual embarrassment of riches? Less clearcut. The advantage of giving PT to freshmen is that they, on average, advance more quickly than if redshirted.

Obviously it's a matter of degrees, and to be honest, I do agree with you in some cases, but I don't think you can make blanket statements either way.

Michigan is already starting to show depth...and most of the team is Fresh and Soph.  The future looks very very bright for Michgian football.  I thought both Green and Smith showed potential.

Rawls looked really good and seemed to have an extra burst that he did not have last year.  Fitz looked like 2011 Fitz.

The OL played well as a unit.  I was impressed by Glasgow, he had a couple bad plays and penalties but he is an improvement over last years guards.

think nut injuries are humorous for some reason.  Farts, now those are harmless and humorous.

Great to take the fam to the game and enjoy a nice win at the Big House.

Best / scariest moment - during warmups when Michigan was punting from North End Zone and Norfleet ran into a CMU coach at the opposition's 40 yard line.  Norfleet and the CMU coach both got laid out (coach had three to assist him up).  But Norfleet came up a little gimpy.  Coaches and Hoke all came over and talked to him and he was fine by game time.  But Hoke immediately turned the drill around so we were punting into the North end zone.

Loved the excitement and the energy and the students and the packed House.  One thing that was a challenge for me was how LOUD the piped in music was during warm-ups.  My ears are literally still ringing.  I've been to a crap-ton of concerts and this was about the same.  Oh well, if that's the worst thing of the day, then it was a pretty kick-ass day!!  Go Blue!

I thought both Freshman RB's ran tough, not sure why some of you still seem to want to pit them against each other.

Anyways, interior OL was better than expected, may not be getting the push now we want however weren't getting pushed back like a year ago so that is nice to see.

Nice sack by Beyer in first series forcing fumble before blocked punt.  Again in 3rd Quarter.  Cam Gordon 2 sacks, one in each half, as well.  Mario with another from WDE.  Good to see solid pressure throughout the game.

It looks half-assed when it is just as easy to get it right.  If we can pay attention to details like painting winged helmets on the fire hydrants, we can match colors better than a kindergartener.

At leat we are not Notre Dame.  Their new Christmas tree ball helmets don't match the moldy gold of their pants at all.  They used to match well and were one of the classic unis in CFB.  Now they look like a middle school team.

Offense was rusty. However, the OL played MUCH better overall than at any point last year. Fitz is back. Gardner needs to make better decisions and not force things. He did make better decisions and passes than Denard though. The secondary seems a little iffy. Hopefully Gordon back at safety will help. DL got good pushes up front, and our blitzes always got to the backfield. Overall, defense didn't let up all game, and the offense started clicking after a rough/rusty start. Bring on the Domers.

This is clearly Hoke's best team to open season. Score another for recruiting/player develpment. What is encouraging to me is that there is plently of room for improvement.

Devin scrambling is good. Cut down picks and he is all Big 10. Shane throws a nice ball, especially rolling out. Looked confident, but it was CMU. Cam Gordon played really well. Good to see. He has been through a lot. Stribling looks legit. I was always confident in his recruitment. Screw the stars. Hail Mattison! Gedeon seems to be a pure football player. Number 42 seemed to be in on lots of special teams plays, and he was always around the ball when he got in on defense. Kalis was very solid. Norfleet HAS to eventually break one, right?? Guarantee he got his ass chewed for trying to field that rolling punt early on. Guarantee it won't happen again. Too many penalties and turnovers.

I liked beating CMU 59-9, but I will feel even better after beating ND next week.

I liked what I saw in Morris.  He is far more than a "serviceable backup" like ESPN wrote.

We had a t-storm and lost cable, and the stream I had to watch was pretty low-quality and I couldn't always get the numbers. Were any redshirts-in-doubt preserved? I'm not sure if McCray saw any action, for example.

I'm not asking because I want to criticize; I'm asking because I want to be informed. Maybe I'll understand a substitution pattern better, later, if I know who might or might not be redshirted.

I'm kind of hoping this fanbase has at least healed to the point where it's possible to ask a question without it seeming to hide a veiled criticism.
