Have you ever executed somebody by flamethrower? Or, do you have a passion for learning how to? If so, send me your CV.

This team is in perfectly good shape.
September 11th, 2016 at 6:17 PM ^
Wait, do you actually not believe the team is in good shape? We paper'd the fuck out of UCF's rock yesterday, and in doing so showed that Speight is actually a legit throwing QB.

Is Maryland scary? Because that's the B1G team Colorado was most equivalent to last year, per Football Outsiders.

I didn't realize a /s was needed for such obvious sarcasm.

Colorado State beat UTSA by 9 yesterday and Idaho State is a bottom of the barrel FCS team.
This is the same team that lost to Hawaii last year.
September 11th, 2016 at 5:21 PM ^
UNLV only scored 80 on them last year.

teams do improve. This is not the same Colorado team of a few seasons ago, or even last year. They have some talent and most starters are upper classman. This is going to be a test, I truley believe they are a better team then Penn State. I think 20 point spread is a little high in this game also.

Seems about right. Colorado will score some points. They are better than people think. I'd take the under at this point,

We didn't though. They had 275, of which 100-some came on QB scrambles, which really are more like passing yards.
On actual designed running plays, they had the two TDs and very little else.
September 11th, 2016 at 5:34 PM ^
That was a very odd offensive performance. UCF got probably two-thirds of its yards on about five plays (out of 68 for the game).
September 11th, 2016 at 6:38 PM ^
I think we'll see in the UFR that the 87 yd TD was accomplished by taking advantage of a freshman DE. But in any case, learning such lessons in a blowout is the best time to learn them.
September 11th, 2016 at 6:43 PM ^
I haven't watched it again, but I'm pretty sure Thomas took a poor angle on that play.
September 11th, 2016 at 6:51 PM ^
Dymonte took a terrible angle and got sucked up and was toast. He should have made that play and cut it to a 15/20 yard run.
Live and learn. Love me some Dymonte Thomas.
September 11th, 2016 at 7:08 PM ^
The DE in question was 93, Lawrence Marshall. He crashed in from the left side and totally gave up the edge. Of the linemen, only Glasgow took the correct angle in pursuit, though Marshall did end up mirroring him. And yes, had Thomas taken a better angle then the runner would have been boxed in by the sideline, Marshall, and Glasgow for a 15 or 20 yard gain. But, the run was always going to be a 1st down as soon as the unblocked Marshall ignored setting the edge.
The greater point though is that the teaching moment took place during a blowout.

Why do you have to wait til UFR? The whole game is on YouTube and it's the exact same video of the game Brian will be watching. People can watch it, pause it and make their own conclusions.

1) Run the ball against a poor UCF team
2) Contain the outside run against a poor UCF team
3) Do not give up game breaking run (4 of them) against a poor UCF team
4) Play with passion and energy against a poor UCF team
should I go on?

With a handle like "MichiganSkeptic," it would be safe to assume he is serious. And trolling.
September 11th, 2016 at 8:15 PM ^
I mean, FFS, posters like Michigan Skeptic just make me laugh. Don Brown is not showing anything beyond the most vanilla of his scheme against these teams. Leaves nothing on film.
Only a certain element of Michigan fans could find 30 plus point wins (never in doubt) a concern. Apparently memories of beating Akron on the last play of games in the Big House are quickly forgotten in this new era.
September 11th, 2016 at 9:45 PM ^
I love reading homers so Homer that they completely miss the point of other peoples' posts. I saw things in the game yesterday that concerned me. So did Skeptic, and so did the coaches. FFS, for you to scoff at the idea that there are concerns about some aspects of the game just indicates that you have abdicated intellectual considerations of the team in favor of pure romantic homerism.
But do keep it up because, as I said, it is most amusing and I love reading brainless homerism.

September 12th, 2016 at 9:21 AM ^
Wow, thanks for that insightful analysis coach. /smh
"Abdicated intellectual considerations"
I'll tell you what I *have* abdicated...I've abdicated silly intellectualization and foolish complaining when the team rolls a cupcake and shows nothing but vanilla scheme on purpose.
You keep keeping on though, genius.

A trap game is playing a decent team you should beat in between games that are close to toss-ups. This is not a trap game. Maryland and Indiana could be considered the two trap games on our schedule. They are both sandwiched between the MSU, Iowa, OSU games.
