Michigan offers 2012 QB
Something tells me that whether we have a shot with him depends on how well Denard does in our offense this year. If Denard puts up monster numbers again, then we can legitimately claim that we would be able to fully utilize his running and passing abilities, which some other schools might not be able to say.
to catch a ball with no helmet or shoulder pads on, especially considering it's indoors...
Has the whole world gone CRAZY!?!
Was being recruited by old regime as well. Brother of former Cincy QB Tony Pike if I'm not mistaken. Huge kid with some wheels. Also a ridiculous offer sheet. Not sure if we can pull him but he'd be the elite QB we're looking for in the class.
It probably shouldn't, but that just got me a lot more behind getting this kid to Michigan. Obviously he's an incredible HS quarterback, but his brother could ball.
Damn good football player and hopefully his brother picked up a thing or two. Would love to see this kid in some wings.
Go Blue!
That makes me nervous. If he is Tony Pike's brother, I'm sure ND will get a real good shot at him. Tony fit really well in Brian Kelly's offense, and I'm sure that won't be lost on Zeke. I know its a long ways out, but if he isn't playing for us, I'd hate to see him playing for a rival.
As much as I respect Tony Pike (I was in the Pitt student section watching him play catch with Marty Gilyard to take the Big East championship and the BCS berth) his brother seems like a lot more of an NFL quarterback than he did.
Tony was good, even great in Kelly's offense, but this kid seems like he's going to be more versatile.
Go Blue!
Tony may also tell Zeke the way in which Brian Kelly left Cincinatti. When Kelly left, quite a few players were very upset with both his actions during that time period and the way in which he told the players.
Notre Dame is already in a very good position with 2 2012 QBs by the name of Gunner Kiel and Matay Mauk. Kiel will probably end up a borderline 5*, Mauk (yes, he is related to that Mauk), has received a lot of early interest as well.
But like I said below, Tony's not related to this Pike.

"Statues" really don't exist anymore. The other top pocket-passers who we'll likely be after in 2012 (Connor Brewer, Mike Baker, Brian Blackburn) can all run. Every quarterback works on his forty time now and they're almost all good athletes.
As for Pike, he'd be a long shot. I'm sure the staff is offering him now because they know that. Who knows with the way they can recruit, though.
Well we know they can pick off high level 3/4*'s with little time (which is no small accomplishment, I'm not trying to say that it is).
We'll see in the coming year if they can go after probably the most recruited kids in the country and close. That's a whole different game from what they're doing now.
Go Blue!
You are only looking at a couple examples. The world is still full of statues and plenty of them still want to be quarterbacks.
Like that Liberty guy from New York. Great arm strength and leadership capabilities. Little on the chunky side though with no mobility whatsoever.
None of the top pocket-passers coming out of high school are, though. It's a huge part of how they're valued now, even if they're going to play in a pro-style offense. One of the reasons the top guys end up being considered the top guys is because they can scramble.
Regardless of what Scout says, I am not at all enamored by Brian Blackburn. Baker's a lock to stay in the southwest, and we're not going to get Connor Brewer. Baker and Brewer would both be very good gets, however.

Glad to see we offered Zeke, looks like a really solid qb prospect. I like his height too.
Andrew Luck 2.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...these are the players I'm use to getting at Michigan. Looks like we will be back to greatness real soon. Go Blue!
If I say a duck can pull a truck, shut up and hook the sucka up!

Really? Maybe Mr. Denard Robinson would like to remind you of his record setting season he just had, as a first year starter as a sophomore.
