Michigan needs to remove the B1G logo from all uniforms and playing surfaces ASAP

This entire conference is conspiring against us and it's complete bullshit.  I will never root for another conference school in a Bowl Game or NCAA tournament game again.  (Maybe USC UCLA Washington and Oregon)

I would do a deal like ND, affiliate with a couple conferences for 3-4 games (b12 and acc?), and get an independent media deal.  M could build revenue sharing with their players into it and force everyone else's hand.  And with an all-sports deal, all sports get some revenue sharing so that the media entity can use each players name, image, and likeness.

Notre Dame currently receives around $26 million annually from a combination of its TV revenue from NBC and its ACC agreement. “Sources say the school should expect around $60 million per year from a new contract,” sports media reporter John Ourand said last year in the Sports Business Journal.

Big Ten schools are receiving about $60 million apiece under the new rights deal that became effective July 1. The windfall is expected to grow to between $80 and $100 million by the time the contract ends in 2030

Both per the interwebs.

Michigan is a bigger draw than Notre Dame mainly because we are better at football than they are. Both teams have a ton of haters which fuel a majority of their watching audience.

If Michigan went independent sign Harbaugh to a 10 year deal they would get a better TV deal than ND or comparable.

Obviously keeping the OSU game would help too.

Why stop at ND? Michigan should make a new conference with all of the schools which are good at sports and school.

Michigan

ND

USC

Washington

Oregon

Georgia

Florida

Florida State

Texas

Either UNC or PSU can be the 10th school.

A conference built on balancing academics and athletics. It has national reach. Major TV markets. Great matchups every week. A 9 game season to play everyone in conference. No conference championship game needed. It has some good basketball schools as well and it wouldn't destroy any of the existing conferences.  Now that is a max TV contract waiting to happen.

The conference could be called the Association of School & Sports, or ASS for short.

It is a requirement but I don't know what the penalty would be for breaching it.  I have noticed that the logo on the basketball floor at Crisler is fairly muted with just slightly different coloring of the stain where it is brightly painted at enemy venues.

See, the reason that shitposts suck isn't just because they waste time.  It's because there's a very limited amount of space for the message board in the navigation, and each shitpost takes up space that something interesting could use instead.  Sure, the older posts stay on the board, but that may as well be Bolivia as far as further user interaction goes.

This was a shitpost.

PS: What the hell is wrong with you if you ever rooted for a conference opponent in a bowl, NCAA game, etc.?! That is hard-core ESS-EEE-SEE right there.  No wonder you shitpost.

Multiple contracts - licensing agreements/revenue sharing agreements/broadcast agreements/apparel supply agreements, etc.  all say think on that one some more.  Performative outrage pales in comparison to liquidated damages/possible injunctive relief.

The Big Ten gets paid because we are in it.  I'm not necessarily pushing for M to leave, but we shouldn't fear the idea or talk of the idea.  It's just talk and numbers, it's abstract at least right now.

Michigan is probably about 20% or more of the Big Ten 's total value.  Take that away from the Big Ten and add it to the ACC, and the $$$ difference is not so large.

I see we are back in the board zone where there's a new drip/leak/article/crazy idea every 5 minutes. Us west coasters are still trying to work!
