Awesome stuff MMB!

That last 30 seconds where they make the block M and transition to vs Everybody was great. They should conclude all their shows with that for the foreseeable future.

Brilliant.  In case the point wasn't getting home , the moment where the entire band took the shape of four swords stabbing the M at midfield certainly drives the point home.  It's chilling actually:

I'm really impressed that they could choreograph all this in a short time.  I assume they had different plans for halftime of the Game until a few weeks ago.

It’s amazing what they can do with software these days.  “Back in my day” (God I sound old) all of the band shows were already planned out before the season started, and it would have been a huge task to come up with a new show from scratch during the season on a couple weeks notice.

Props to the MMB for an another great show.   Go Blue!

Same and I was thinking the same thing.  I can't imagine the staff coming up with a brand new show in the middle of the season back when I was in the MMB, even though we did use software back then.  We would sometimes adjust things a bit for the bowl game show but never something completely from the scratch.  I was quite impressed yesterday!

I used one of my engineering "free electives" to take Marching Band Technique with Eric Becher in the School of Music. It was fun. He had charting band formations down to an art, back during "pencil and paper" days. He taught us to do so rather quickly.

Well, done, MMB. But the inspiration is what is most amazing. An inspired, motivated staff can put the charts together very quickly. Probably in one all-nighter. And by this time of year, that band can learn an entirely new show very rapidly.

Let me add that I'm really impressed with my pal/acquaintance Carl Grapentine.

He's so reliable that I'd never thought before that he has to prepare for the game and keep a tight focus during the whole thing

AND do the same for his original job with the Band's halftime show, with very little break.

Kudos, Carl!

Carl is a legend.  Since he has to cover the game as well, he’s basically stuck to his chair for 4-5 straight hours, with no bathroom breaks.  He has to have an assistant if he wants something to drink or snack on because he can’t leave his box.  A friend of mine got to be his assistant for a game during the Brady Hoke years.

Voice of the MMB for 53 years now and his voice is still glorious.

That was awesome!  And its dead clear that it was ginned up in the last few weeks because this band always lines up spot perfect in their shows.  And this show was not that!  The lines were crooked and wobbly, the letter alignments were not set in a straight line - the B in "BELIEVE" was on the sideline, and the last E was up near the hash!

What a great job from the band!  The effort to get it as good as it was in only a few weeks was outstanding, and something we've come to expect from these guys.

Well done, MMB!!!

I loved it.  The MMB has done a “TV time” halftime show before.  Most notably in 1986 (when Harbaugh was the QB.)  At first, I thought it was going to be a variation on that.

But I absolutely love what this turned in to.  Great job.

Yeah that was pretty awesome. Yes the lines were a bit uneven and there were imperfections (still amazing given that they had at most a few weeks to learn all of the new stuff), but the Ted Lasso, Believe, Bet and Michigan vs Everybody was spot on and topical. Well done, MMB.

Honestly, I also thought they were trolling the OSU band. I get that visiting bands only get an abbreviated window, but the only two formations the OSU band did were spelling Ohio (they marched across the field with Ohio spelled while playing their fight song, and then did their script Ohio that takes forever and a day). So what do we do for every song? We spell something, almost all the words were longer than four letters, too!
