Michigan Madness was pretty lit.  Love our teams - Men and Women,  And our coaches.

Beat Northwestern.

Well my 2 year old son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy this week, we were told our older son may have cognitive impairment from a brain injury as an infant, and today is the 4th anniversary of my daughter having been stillborn. So it's that kind of week.

OTOH, I don’t have mixed feelings about Posbangs at the prospect of an agitated Pat Fitzgerald rampaging up and down the NW sideline.

How does one "hate" Northwestern?

They aren't arrogant, maybe kinda pompous because of the stellar academics, but certainly not arrogant about any athletics.  They know their place in the B1G.  I mean, they're kind of like the B1G's lovable losers - the kids that are just there, not really trying to impress anyone because they can't, but not rude to anyone, either.

The opposite spectrum would be Rutger - the jerk that thinks he belongs and is always bullying the smaller kids.  I can see hating Rutger, but I just don't see hate for NW.

That said, lets just beat the holy hell out of them tomorrow afternoon on the gridiron.

I remember hating Northwestern with RAGE when I was in high school.  The loss in 1995 (our first loss to them in 30-something years) I was still seething about that game as the rest of the world was admiring their Cinderella season.  The following year was all about revenge, but we blew a 16-0 4th quarter lead and lost by a point.  Things seemed to go back to normal the next three seasons and Gary Barnett left for Colorado.  Then...that stupid game happened in 2000.  Ever since A-train lost that fumble on the run that would have sealed the win, I've wished nothing but pain on those guys.  And they've had many well deserved painful losses to us since.

Northwestern also became an extreme pain in the ass in basketball the last several years.

I don't get it, either. Their fans are easily at the top of the opposing team pile in politeness, courtesy, etc. Ryan Field is a rinky-dink stadium but I've enjoyed watching several games there (even M00N) without encountering thousands of meatheads, which I'll be doing in a little over a week in East Landfill.

Real excited over basketball this year! I thought by now in the football season I would be caring a whole lot less than I am but its still exciting thankfully and now we have a great basketball season to look forward to!
