Looks like he is Oregons to lose....but you never know.

would be a great get... but i think it's too late in the recruiting process to pick up the higher rated prospects like this. Would love to see some hoke magic though.

You are 14, don't become prematurely old and jaded, keep the faith young fella.

Ekpe Udoh?
January 21st, 2011 at 1:04 PM ^
Ekpre gets that all the time you know. He's so fucking tired of his name being compared to Epke's.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:03 PM ^
Looks like he had a SDSU offer, fwiw.

We've got a couple of those
January 21st, 2011 at 1:18 PM ^
Ehhhhh........I'm not so sure.
I think Countess is good. So there's that.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:20 PM ^
But still...do you really want 5-6 CB commits? None of them outside Greg Brown seem ticketed to S
January 21st, 2011 at 1:28 PM ^
Sure. Backup CB's are great for special teams.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
No, I don't want 5 or 6 cornerbacks, but I think Woolfolk, Christian, and Tamani could play safety, too. We literally have no one behind Vinopal right now unless some guys change positions, so I think the coaches intend to do some shifting.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
I think we could use 5-6 cornerbacks. It will finally give Michigan an oppurtunity to redshirt some guys. Nothing wrong with that. I would prefer we not get that many DBs but the thought of actually having enough depth to redshirt some guys makes me smile.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:46 PM ^
With four current cornerback recruits (Countess, Carter, Hollowell, Brown), we have 9 corners scheduled to be on the roster in 2011. Only one will be graduating after 2011 (Woolfolk). Obviously, five or six cornerback recruits would make that number swell to 10 or 11 corners on the roster.
We should be able to redshirt some guys this year, whether we get more cornerbacks or not.

What about Marvin Robinson?
January 21st, 2011 at 1:47 PM ^
He's bounced back and forth between FS and SS. I'm not sure where he'll end up permanently.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:51 PM ^
Where he ultimately ends up might have some to do with where the DBs from this class end up. If we get one or two that look to be solid free safeties, I bet MRob ends up at SS. If we're still looking for a guy who can crack the depth chart at FS, Marvin will stay at FS.
Where Carvin Johnson fits best might affect this as well.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:47 PM ^
One of the great mysteries of the universe.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
Carter might end up at safety.. Raven could definitely play free safety as well.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:35 PM ^
That's the guy I really want - Floyd Raven looks awesome. I'm hoping Fred Jackson can work some magic on him.

Who do you feel is the better prospect out of McClure and Raven? I would say McClure looks better on film but Raven is more versatile. Is his versatility, the fact that he can play CB or S, the reason you would say he is a better fit at Michigan?
January 21st, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
I'd prefer Raven for his versatility and tackling ability. If I were running the show, I'd try to convince him to come in and play free safety.
McClure is a smoother player, but I'd almost want him to come in and play wide receiver. I haven't seen a ton of film on McClure, but he seems to lack a little bit of the defensive mentality. He's not quite as aggressive as I would like him to be.

JC3-is he still coming next weekend or going to Bama. Thanks
January 21st, 2011 at 1:48 PM ^
He should be heading to Michigan next weekend, yeah.

Can't wait to see the 2-2-7.

January 21st, 2011 at 1:26 PM ^
I can't wait until I'm as cool as you are. I mean anyone with the balls to hate on teenagers playing football anonymously on the internet is worthy of 30k + points.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:34 PM ^
I'm sorry. What I meant to say is that every Michigan recruit will be super awesome, and I expect each one of these guys to be a first round pick in 2015!!!
January 21st, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
while its not likely every single one of these kids could be first round draft picks. You have no idea what their futures hold. But go ahead keep hating on random teenagers.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
Are you just pissed that I refused to write for your blog?
January 21st, 2011 at 1:45 PM ^
you got me. Or it might be that I don't like the things you have to say about Teenagers and dudes in their early twenties. So I'm gonna keep calling you on it.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:49 PM ^
Everytime you post, I hate you more. Your avatar just makes it that much more difficult to ignore the garbage that you continually post.
January 21st, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
I .......er wait I don't even know who you are.
January 21st, 2011 at 2:09 PM ^
It's okay, I love you DB
January 21st, 2011 at 2:30 PM ^
How bout if him and Magnus switched avatars? I know that would make me happier.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:50 PM ^
Well, I've been discussing recruiting for a few years now, so it doesn't really make sense that you would have asked me to write for your blog, then.
"Hey, I've got an idea! I hate this one guy on the internet, so I'm going to ask him to join my blog!"
Anyway, since you're the proud owner of the "2010 Midnight Maize Douche of the Year" award, forgive me if I don't take your insults to heart.
January 21st, 2011 at 1:53 PM ^
That isn't my blog, yes I occasionally write there, but it is Shredders blog, but good deflection.
January 21st, 2011 at 2:35 PM ^
Speaking of deflections...
"Well, that's technically not my blog...so...ummm...you didn't really refuse to write for my blog. You just chose not to participate in the blog that I myself asked you to participate in."
January 21st, 2011 at 2:47 PM ^
The only thing I ever asked you to do for MM was do a round table, I never once asked you to write for it. Maybe Shredder did, I don't know. This is almost as bad as that time you slipped roofies into the semi hot MICH girl of the week's drink. See what I did there.

Knowledgable UM fans at least look at the commitment page...
January 21st, 2011 at 3:43 PM ^
looks good but i dont think he has the top end speed to be a top corner but if he is good at jamming and coverage i think he can be a good corner. i think Floyd Raven is one of the best corners based on his speed and hands. but i think he will be a safety not a corner (Raven)
January 21st, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
Good to see hoke covering all the bases just in case things don't work out with Countess, Raven, McClure, Kitchen, Hollowell, Brown. That's a lot of DBs lol
January 21st, 2011 at 1:16 PM ^
We just have 3 DB verbals right now. So, it's good to cover the bases.
