Michigan Basketball Calling for a "Stripe-Out" Tomorrow Night vs. OSU
It's really hard to believe that WD hasn't posted about this yet. Because Michigan is doing a Maize-Out against MSU, they've opted for a "Stripe-Out" tomorrow night.
To pull it off, they will be putting color-coordinated shirts on every seat. I think this could look really cool if we can actually get that lower bowl to fully show-up and participate.
This is a much smaller scale than a football game, but I would love it if they could pull this off for that as well. Then again, we can't even pull off a maize-out.

Sounds cool...I genuinely hope they pull it off, but I also won't hold my breath. I feel like you could give everyone a free shirt and $50 cash if they put it on and our fans would have about 70% participation...

I'll gladly take it home and then fit it into my shirt rotation, but I'm not giving up an opportunity to wear my favorite shirt in a context where it makes sense

When I last ordered from the MGoStore a few months ago, that "Worst State Ever" shirt was available in Maize and also in Blue. If you insist on being so stubborn you should have one in each color.

We actually don't suck at this. Happened in much the same manner maybe three or four years ago. They had maize or blue t-shirts on all of the seats. Every year, a picture I took from my seat shows up in my Facebook memories...so I'm sure I'm remembering it correctly. One could clearly discern the maize sections from the blue sections...and participation seemed to be very high. I sit in the corner right above the players' tunnel...so my view is primarily of the lower level.

You’re absolutely clueless. We did this in 2013 with the rededication of Crisler and it worked perfectly.
Also giving out shirts is not something we invented. Go take your meds.

The last few home games you could fire a canon into the lower bowl and not hit anybody at tip. It isn't that the people there won't put the shirts on, it is that tip-time attendance has appeared to be about 5,000, if that. Hard to stripe anything without people in the seats.

This could look cool if they can pull it off. As a big guy, I immediately wonder what size shirts they are putting out. Would it be easier to just tell people what color to wear so they can wear something that fits? I'm all about cheering on the team, but I dont want to look like Tommy Boy wearing Richard's jacket.

You can always look what color you should be wearing and wear that color. If the shirt doesn't fit, then you're already covered. I would guess XL or 2XL just to make sure they cover as many people as possible.

At hockey games they put out XL shirts. So I would assume that’s what will be here.
Telling people what color to wear doesn’t work because people don’t listen, don’t get the message, or don’t care. Participation is HORRIBLE in every sport when we try Maize Outs. Even when shirts are on every seat at hockey games you have maybe 2/3 of the arena participate.

If you look at the current projections, Michigan is still "in". These wins would certainly help the seeding though.

Losing tomorrow would be an absolute distaster. Losing Saturday would be unfortunate, but expected. Albeit, I would say last Saturday's win over Rutgers solidified a tournament spot unless Michigan gets completely stupid and drops games like @NW, home vs IU/NEB/WISC
