Michigan Baseball playing at Dodger Stadium on 3/5

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

I just found this out while going through and making a schedule for the upcoming Michigan Baseball schedule.

Michigan will compete in the Dodgertown Classic from 3/3-3/5.

3 games, 3 stadiums all in LA in 3 days.

  • March 3rd: at UCLA (9pm EST)
  • March 4th: at USC (9pm EST)
  • March 5th: San Diego at Dodger Stadium (2pm)

Just a heads up for you West Coast Wolverines.

We've played in a few MLB parks recently. Wrigley, Comerica, Citi Field.

To be fair, we do mix it up now and again in southeastern Michigan - it was two days of dense fog and mid-50s, but today begins the rain and by Wednesday or Thursday they are thinking snow again. It's really kind of rare to get just one form of precipitation for four days straight here, especially in the mid-late winter and early spring.

I imagine you don't miss it even at that, of course.

Yup, and we played 4 games at Hawaii last year and will be playing at Hawaii every other year for a series.

plays in a very weirdly located stadium on the West side of the 405, campus is to the East.  Jackie Robinson Stadium.  No roof over the stands, so bring sunscreen.

USC is right on campus and has a practice putting green located directly over the center field wall.

Dodger Stadium is cool, haven't been there in a couple decades now.  I imagine it feels pretty old next to some modern parks.

Great trip, would love to do this.

I saw this!  Incredibly hyped!  I went to see them play the Dirtbags in Long Beach a couple of seasons ago and it was a blast for me and my boys.  Sat next to one of the coaches moms for UM, which was great and chatted about the new coaching regime.

What about the game on Wednesday the 1st?  Also says it's in L.A.  Anyone know about where Loyola Marymount plays ball?
