i think we'll have a legit shot at hosting gameday for that one. shit loads of tradition, a rivalry, denard, and the first night game ever at the big house should do the trick. anyone know what other big games are our competition that day??

Yeah, but ESPN has an affinity for ND, too.

And there are a lot more storylines in UM-ND than Bama-PSU.  Plus the Bama-PSU game was a blowout last year, and probably will be again.

UM-ND will be on ESPN, primetime, and will easily be the most watched game of the day; one of the most watched games of the year (based on the fanbases of the teams playing and timeslot).  It would be crazy for Game Day to miss this one.

College GameDay, inside the stadium plazas (maybe by the Eagle, maybe by the north end zone, but because everyone can be cleared out of the stadium before the game, it's the perfect chance to do it (GameDay has always had a "venue" problem for Michigan.)

Which, by the way, Desmond would then be in town for the 20th anniversary of "4th and 1."

Isn't the parking lot at Main and Keech (just north of the NW corner of Michigan Stadium and used by contractor trailers while under construction) where it has been held before? Wouldn't that area be most likely to host again?

Panoramic shots of campus, a nice corner of the stadium with plenty of flat land, that's my guess...

[How do I post a screenshot? Apparently, I am dumb and only know how to link url'd photos]

Basically the Big Chill, but you know, with football.

And the grumpy traditionalist who will complain that all games are supposed to start at 1pm.

That school from northern Indiana is the away team.  And if they ask for our permission per the NCAA rule (they wouldn't), I say we tell 'em to go fuck themselves.  They wear white jerseys.  And their fans wear whatever they the wear to their usual Saturday night bar-fight.

Actually year before last we had seats inside the blue Block M and of course he refused to wear the blue "All In For Michigan" shirt being given aaway sporting instead his green Irish shirt.

Point being the student section ABUSED him all day and being one of so few Irish fans it was glorious!  Of course Tater busting them in half did not hurt.  I once had a version of this picture that was larger and you can actually see his lone Irish green shirt just under the stage left far tier of the M and me next to him hand in the air as we all shouted "HAIL" during The Victors.

I mean, I understand that students need to occasionally bring some money in and selling their tickets can be an easy way to do that, BUT USE SOME FREAKING DISCRETION.  If there are opposing fans willing to pay top dollar, I'll bet there are plenty of Michigan fans willing to do the same.
