"Miami Dolphins know it's time to make room for Chad Henne"

Looks like the Fins are high on Henne and plan to have him start once Pennington's contract runs out after this season

Hope the Miami fans like watching red zone interceptions.

What does this mean? The ND interception in 2005? I don't recall this being a trouble spot for Henne. Please elaborate.

Career Henne:
1387 attempts/828 completions - 59.7%; 87 TDs, 37 INTs - .42 ratio INT-to TDs
Career Brady:
711/443 - 62.3%; 35 TDs, 19 INTs - .54 ratio INT-to-TD
Whatever shortcomings Henne had as a collegian, I don't think throwing INTs, esp. in the red zone, was among them.

come on man, that's some weak shit.

that's awesome. he'll do well.
March 24th, 2009 at 10:43 AM ^
And Henne will do average his first year and everyone will think he is awesome because he is just a rookie and then he will never do any better or worse and will go down as an average to good QB, unless he gets injured during a season with high expectations and loses to the Lions in his first game... then people will boo him.
March 24th, 2009 at 11:02 AM ^
That's depressingly realistic.
He's in a good place right now. Let's all hope he defies the odds.

I dunno about a Lions/App State comparison. App State was pretty good that year. Losing to the Lions would be more like losing to Albion or something...

every time someone actually tries to make an argument that chad henne did not grow and improve during his four years here I want to smash my head through the computer screen

Agree - I have the up utmost respect for him and think he was underrated in NCAA. This is especially based on the poise he typically showed late in the 4th quarter - e.g., MSU '07, PSU '05. He had one bad year, mostly due to a banged up receiving corps (the rest of '05). The rest of the time he was pretty dependable. Plus, his mechanics were as good as or better than most qbs. Just a beautiful qb to watch (no homo).

qbs blowup...the Phins need to find out what they got. I for one will be pulling for the young man sucess. Kinda feel sorry for Chad, just dosen't seem he can catch a break since being in the league.
March 24th, 2009 at 11:42 AM ^
Wait, I'm confused by your post. You feel bad for Chad Henne? Because he hasn't caught a break?
Henne is currently in his second season in the NFL, playing back-up to an aging and injury-prone yet successful veteran quarterback for a franchise with a fanbase and front office that absolutely love his potential. That team also won 11 games last season and made the playoffs. If that's not catching breaks, I want to know what the fortunate quarterbacks look like

I was referring to Chad Pinnington. Should have used last names since both of them are name Chad. With Pennington bad breaks seem to be the case.
Haha, I thought you might be talking about another Chad. Just wanted to be sure

That will be bizzarro world right there.

the passer,certainly not the receiver!
College rivals can be *odd* pro teammates.

Whoa. Whoa. Why in front of the kids? All you gotta do is say "earmuffs"
Kinda like those Brady to Vrabel touchdowns?
