MGoDrone: Wisconsin, Purdue, and some MACtion
Hi all, your friendly MGoEyeInTheSky here. People seem to enjoy these MGoDrone threads and it's a relatively slow afternoon here. I've been traveling a bit and anytime I go somewhere I usually bring my DJI Phantom Vision 2+ QuadRotor. Over the weekend I was in Madison for the hockey games. I made a pit-stop at Camp Randall for some aerial shots:

And don't forget the Kohl Center!
More like the 'Cold' Center, right?! Ha haaa..... Sorry.
Whilst in West-Lafayette for the basketball-game-that-we-don't-need-to-talk-about it was raining so I wanted to keep the flight very short. The result was a kind of crappy shot, but here it is:
Being that I am originally from near Toledo, when I was home for the holidays I went out to Bowling Green and Toledo as well:
Finally, THIS WAS NOT A DRONE SHOT BECAUSE I WOULD GET IN BIG TROUBLE IF IT WAS but:
My friend and I went flying in Green Bay during the Packers-Cowboys playoff game and the flight path for landings goes right next to the stadium:
Normally you're not allowed to be flying anywhere near a stadium during a game. But because the airport was so close and we were just an airplane that had to do airplane things, we had a good reason to be so close (the kind ATC guy explained it nicely to us).
And of course, here it is your moment of zen:
I'll hopefully be at Minnesota and Indiana next month so I'll be sure to get some shots of their stadiums as well.

Screw Wisconsin.

Thank you for sharing. Ross Ade Stadium doesn''t look much different than the MAC stadiums in size and grandeur. That probably doesn't help with recruiting.

I've aeen a few Michigan-Purdue games at Ross-Ade. I thought the stadium was decent. It has a capacity of 62,500....which is bigger than about half of the B!G stadiums.

In the end zone. The stadium is decent enough.

That Lambeau Field shot is pretty great, man.

Thanks! We were flying for a while and didn't know what the score was. I had everyone covered, Cowboys were up 21-13, 1:55 left in the 3rd:

These pics are great. What a fun hobby.
I used to bulid RC planes, but that was a decade ago. Perhaps it's time to get a drone with a decent camera.
What drones do you recommend? I'm thinking it would be fun to have one that's a pretty stable platform, so I can take reasonable-quality photographs.

Past stadiums I've posted as well:

That's more fans than average

of coarse im prejudice, but dont alot of other stadiums look either unbalanced or not quite finished?
January 25th, 2015 at 5:45 PM ^
Our stadium is the best of all stadiums in college football!

This is amazing and very entertaining. Thank you for posting.

Always nice to see these but what are airplane things?

Descent, final approach, landing.

These are so awesome. eternal +1's to you sir.

I hope they take a look at Lambeau and learn from the mistake they made with the south end zone expansion. It looks so tacky(almost like Beaver Stadium) and just hate the fractured stands. They should've extended the suites to match the other side, it would've made the expansion a little smaller, but at least it would have been symmetrical.
This looks fine:
This looks ugly:

Very cool pictures. Being from Temperance seeing the BG and Toledo staduims was extra nice.

you don't have a picture of Rynerson Stadium at EMU among those, being just minutes down I-94 from Ann Arbor. WMU's Waldo Stadium and Kelly-Shorts @CMU, too, if you want to give us some additional MACtion.
Nice shots so far, though.
January 25th, 2015 at 8:10 PM ^
That's actually a good idea! Next time I drive home via i-94 I might stop by Western. EMU's stadium would be easy to get to, too.

These are great. Being a BG grad and lifelong Toledo resident I really appreciate the Doyt and Glassbowl. Thanks.

These are awesome, it would be cool if you had a collection of every stadium in B1G. Except for Maryland, cause you'd probably get arrested for flying a drone around there.
