Agreed 100%.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:26 PM ^
Yep. He should not sit another year. Should have started this year. Another wasted season
December 29th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
Not a bad take
December 29th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
Eactly.
The problems will all be corrected by the backup QB and a quality control offensive advisor from the NFL.
Michigan fans once again proving their worth and knowledge.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
You want to run it back? I’m all ears for any other suggestions as well
December 29th, 2018 at 3:44 PM ^
Yep, all Michigan fans are stupid. Coaching a football team is such extremely high-level get select online rocket science but only a few elites can understand what's going on.
It doesn't take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows when it comes to Michigan football, coaching, players quitting
December 29th, 2018 at 4:44 PM ^
Dude, everything you said was wrong. No, not all Michigan fans are stupid. Take the one your responding to, he doesn't seem daft. The statement that starts with 'Extremely' and ends in 'science', there really aren't that many guys that would have done better than Jim. He's had three 10 win seasons; that's sets the bar a little higher than middling, don't ya think? You really lost me on the final sentence but the only quitters I've experienced recently are those 'fans' that write on this blog. If they were teammates of mine they would be categorized as a cancer, someone to be removed from the team.
Do changes need to be made? Things certainly could have been done better, but to take what coach has done so far and decide he's been a categorical failure is just whining.
December 30th, 2018 at 7:41 AM ^
Well I would be willing to bet a 50-70k a year high school dc could stop a complicated offense engineered by a 7-8 mil a year genius. That same 7-8 mil a year isn't getting UM football much worth and knowledge. What say you wise one.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
Jedd was a great recruiter too. You can entice him with full control of the offense.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
Jimmy is never going to relinquish control of the offense.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
If Harbaugh Won't Give Up controlling the offense for the good of the team, then he needs to go. He is destroying this team, not just the last two games, but for future seasons.
December 29th, 2018 at 6:07 PM ^
Stupid take. You should feel bad.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
And yet we blame Pep Hamilton for the play-calling and game planning on offense.
In no way is this a defense of Pep but there’s enough blame to go around for everyone.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
If he was better than Patterson he would be in. We got 99 problems and Patterson ain’t one.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
After watching the end of the 1st half drive, i dont know if anything we are doing is the correct decision.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
Patterson was gifted the job as soon as the transfer was complete ... It wasn’t a challenge he knew coming here he would start or else he had no reason to come..
December 29th, 2018 at 10:09 PM ^
I don't believe that. In fact I don't believe we're playing our best players enough at all.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
Yes! 100%
December 29th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
He should transfer to Washington State. He will get to play and highlight his talents.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
I thought it couldn’t feel any better after the Ohio State, but yep, this is an even deeper feeling of despair. What an awful season, and no end in sight.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
Its the coaching. Really. This year is 5 We are embarrassing ...buy get. Your seat license is due.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
Patterson is a great representation of Michigan's program. Sucks against anyone with a pulse.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
I like Shea but I don't see an NFL arm.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
I like Shea but I'd rather see McCaffrey next year.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
When I said this on my other account it was then removed ... Hopefully you don’t get the same punishment
December 29th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
Double post
December 29th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
This game is Dylan’s coming out party and he’s not even dressed! Lol! If that doesn’t smack reality into this fanbase, not sure anything will.
patterson needs to go.......and I’m real close to thinking he should take Harbaugh with him
December 29th, 2018 at 4:30 PM ^
You know he's hurt?
December 29th, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
I’ve said this all during the transfer process ,when he was handed the starting QB job, all during summer when the hype was about him being the mobile QB, after the ND game and all season long when I couldn’t see him throwing a deep pass ... #teamdylan
December 29th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
Won't matter Jim Ball would hold him back
December 29th, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^
Funny how no one said Michigan football was Jim ball holding the offense back before Pep Hamilton started coaching at Michigan.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:58 PM ^
Can we stop with the Jedd bs.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:01 PM ^
This is quickly becoming a popular opinion amongst the Michigan fanbase, but only a month ago some fans were being ostracized for suggesting that Dylan would be a better option than Shea. Go ahead and take a look at this thread. Most of the people were saying that it was completely obvious that Shea gave us the best chance to win simply because Dylan is an unproven player and Shea is a veteran - which is a stupid argument. Fans who were dissenting from the groupthink were getting negged to death and I believe one was even banned. I'm glad more people in the fanbase are finally seeing what's wrong with the football program; I'm just upset that it took so long when the problems have been there for some time now.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:47 PM ^
Totally agree with you. I got called every name in the book for suggesting Shea wasn't going to play on Sundays. We're all Michigan fans, but wow we get butt hurt easily.
You can't even ask a civil question on here without some snarky, negative response.
So I pretty much don't post anything. Some of the writing is really good, but for the most part, this is not a football-wise board. Ok now you can go ahead and negbang me.
December 30th, 2018 at 5:08 AM ^
Jmeister- I completely agree. No matter how much I want to post a concrete opinion or facts even slightly unbiased, I don’t post due to all the negative arguments/negging. I only post if I’m rooting for our team during an open game thread. Facts mixed with honest opinion seems to be unwanted at times so why bother right?
Going forward to the offseason and next year.. I hope there’s a real competition at the Qb position and Dylan/rest of the Qb’s get a fair shake at starting Qb. The best players play and if it also means adjusting to 3wide every snap keeping DpJ, Black, & Collins on the field at all times I’m all for it.
Still, Win or Lose- Go Blue!
December 30th, 2018 at 8:06 AM ^
It is the mob mentality around here. Truth or logic be damned. Shea is not NFL caliber. I think Rudock was better. The type of offense run by this coaching staff will not get it done in the modern era...period. I will go as far as to say the results from the past two seasons will lead to a big dropoff of highly ranked qb prospects not even considering coming to UM. Results matter to recruits and the results speak for themselves. The argument can be made for McCaffery for sure, but unless widespread changes are made to the offense, no matter what qb is trotted out there, do not expect any improvement from the position. But what do we know as fans, trust in JH...right. Not so much for me these days.
December 30th, 2018 at 8:51 AM ^
truth, its why I dont say shit around here...dont want to upset anyones fragile ego.
December 30th, 2018 at 1:28 PM ^
Well if egos are fractured, so be it. They make comic books and there is kids programming on tv for the weak.
December 30th, 2018 at 8:55 AM ^
truth, its why I dont say shit around here...dont want to upset anyones fragile ego.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
Why any decent QB or WR would come to M is beyond me. "Hey we might throw the ball downfield 5 times today - unless we are down 3 touchdowns - then we might try 6 times!"
December 29th, 2018 at 6:44 PM ^
December 29th, 2018 at 4:05 PM ^
Even if he is the better QB, I have no faith in Harbaugh to award him the starting job.
December 30th, 2018 at 7:06 AM ^
He's not the better QB. This is ridiculous what's going on in this post.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:12 PM ^
Strong point. At a minimum, I’m for Jedd coming back and a true competition for the QB spot. Shea hasn’t done anything to lock it up. Jedd’s Offense had rhythm and balance. I’m sorry it’s nothing like what Pepp is running.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:18 PM ^
I remember this thread about Devin when Denard was QB. And about O'Korn when Speight started. And about Peters when O'Korn started.
December 29th, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
Most of those QBs weren't very good. Starters and the guys who replaced them. McCaffrey actually looks like a good passer.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
December 29th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
Patterson lacks the "it" factor. I didn't see Shea making key plays that could rally the offense or the team against Ohio State and now Florida, two Top 10 teams that ran us out of the stadium. Was hoping for better. McCaffrey has that "it" factor. No-he hasn't preformed yet in big games but it seems he has that sense to make a big play. McCaffery seems like a big play type guy, hast he moxy. Plus JH need to do what Dabo, Saban and Kelly did; change QBs mid season or mid game so as to WIN!
December 29th, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
You put DM behind this O line and not sure how much of his “it-factor” will function. No running game to lean on at all.
December 29th, 2018 at 11:39 PM ^
You use the word "SEEMS" several times.
It seems clear to me that you don't know squat.
I'm not denying he could be good. But all you got is SEEMS......
