MBB vs. Ohio State Open Thread
Man...oh well...Go Penn State
If there is a such thing as a good loss, that was it.
Steve Kerr, "Michigan fans applauding the effort of their young team". Amen, way to fight to the end boys!
Take away the BS calls, and this would have been our game.
Either way, WE DANCIN'!
of character. Love that they fought till the end. Same way they battled through after the 1-6 start in conference. Anybody who isn't proud of this team, really needs to get their head on straight.
Loved every minue of it - fighting all the way to the end, cannot wait to see what you do next
CONGRATULATIONS on making the Tourney!
Gonna beat the spread with at least 20 points on the officials.
I retract the kitten from earlier and replace it with this one.
Gateway error.
I like our chances to win 2 in the NCAA, we played the number one team in the country very well. The refs didn't help, but our guys never gave up.

Initial disappointment with the officiating has given away to a begrudging acceptance, helped by the fact that we are solidily in the dance.
i love whatever talking head that was that asked gene smith why he only suspended tressel for 2 non-conference games. he said something like "we're waiting for the ncaas investigation blah blah blah" which translates to "because we don't give a sh*t and we're going to see if the ncaa is actually going to do anything"
Love all the double posts. I ain't even mad!
I'm not one to blame refs, but we had no shot 8 on 5.
The officials directly gifted OSU at least seven points that I counted. We were in it, could have won it, but I still love this team. Go Blue.
Love this team for that run at the end. With a little more experience, I think we don't let Hightower/Valentine get to us and take this.
When will the NCAA fire those two hacks?
This game reminded me of our loss to Oklahoma a few years ago in the 2nd round. It's as if the refs think Sullinger is Michael Jordan or something. The announcers and refs were catering to him. Really pisses me off too when they talk about what a "stand-up yound man" he is. Watch his dimeanor on the court. He's a dog.
There's no excuse for us having a meltdown in the middle of the 2nd half like that, but it's ironic that 2 blown calls by the refs were the catalyst. The touch out of bounds off Sullinger's fingers that was given back to OSU and the supposed blocking foul on Hardaway against guess who, Sullinger. Why didn't that "stand-up young man" make it right by telling the refs it went off his fingers? What a loser.
Dude, you NEVER tell the ref that he made the wrong call when it's in your benefit. The officiating was horrible today - as it always is with Hightower - but calling into question a kid's character for not arguing on behalf of his opponent is absurd.
in soccer. I do it a lot.
I'm not saying that in general you should always correct the refs, but it's ironic that Sullinger is touted as being such a good kid.
I wish the NCAA would quarantine the refs like they do with jurors. It's obvious the refs know who the allstars are and give them preferential treatment. It's not just OSU.
UM was already considered in before this game. If this was a must win, I would be a little more upset.
Then again, I won't completely relax until I see UM's name in the bracket. I don't trust the Selection Committe at all.
If they're anything like the refs were for OSU today, maybe we're in trouble.
That is all.
Perspective.
If anyone would have told me we'd be 20-12 facing OSU in the semifinals of the B1G tournament as the No. 4 seed with an NCAA berth secured before the beginning of the year, I would've called you crazy as hell.
Angry? A bit, but we're moving the right way.
What gets you through bad calls is senior leadership. If you keep scoring, the bad calls don't seem to continue to kill you. When we couldn't score the bad calls magnified the problem. Anything this team does from this game forward is gravy. All they needed to do was make the tourney so the freshman could exprerience what it is all about.
With that being said, I think they are playing so well that we'll steal at least a game in the tourney, if not make it to the following weekend.
